Texamo Spur — Restaurant in Gauteng

On ordering for Family of 5 including my father of 87 years . Bheki the waiter seems very distracted and came with menus without Senior menu . Asked for this as one could see he was senior , after asking about specials he didn't know much on specials which I then informed family of what was on special as we had been there 2 days prior. Husband asked about 200g rump for R 126.90 special,if came with sauce ,which he said yes . We the asked for quarter chicken for my father on senior menu and informed him of only the wing /breast side . When plate arrived ,it was drum stick and we asked to send back as we wanted wing/breast side . What was worrying is that it literally took 5 mins and he was back with now the wing/breast side which looked like a piece that had been cooked previously for some one else , over based with dark sauce and so dry . My dad now hungry didn't want to send back and just decide to eat it . I was very concerned why it was full of basting . Well needless to say my 87 year old father didn't sleep as he has been vomiting and not well at all . This chicken definitely was off and therefore the coving with basting to cover taste and look of this 5 min replacement chicken . I will be taking this further if my dad gets worse !!!! Disgusting that Bheki who saw it was an elderly would serve old chicken ,know the consistence. Needless to say they have now lost a customer after many times in one week we go there .We rather go to Brackenhurst or gold reef spur. I need to bring to your attention the troubling experience I had at your restaurant yesterday. I accidentally left my phone at the entrance counter as I was leaving. We passed by their entrance reception to remove the kids' clips on their clothing as they played in the play area. I had taken my kids to celebrate their birthdays. It was distressing to discover that a staff member picked up my phone and put it in her pocket, acting as though she wasn't trying to steal it. However, I failed to get her name or a clear look at her as I rushed to locate the car I had requested to pick up my family.

One of the guys serving us, a trainee, tried to solicit money from me. At first, I thought he was asking me to tip him, as I didn't because they got my order wrong, forcing me to spend beyond the budget I had set aside for the outing. I ordered a half salad dish but received a full one, which I only noticed when they brought the bill. They took advantage of my kindness and calm demeanour, and I don't think I will ever feel safe at your restaurant.

As blacks, we get mistreated and taken advantage of in restaurants, and we choose not to report this because of empathising with our fellow blacks, knowing that things are very tough for us. However, when such things happen, it is hard to let them slide because I may be promoting such behaviours, and it wouldn't be fair. I suspect that they may be doing...

I placed an order on Mr D Food app at 7:25pm - the time now is 9:07pm and I still have not received my order. I phoned mr d food at 8:15pm and was told there was a delay in preparation of the meal. I then phoned Spur and I asked them why there was a delay… only to be told “Your order was ready long time ago but the driver has not collected” they told me they would contact the driver and they did and called me telling me the driver will collect shortly.

I then waited and waited and waited and still no delivery… I then called mr d food again but no one was answering. So I called Spur just to have someone tell me “sorry but this is a Mr D problem and has nothing to do with us because we only prepare the food, we don’t deliver”

This unacceptable service. You cannot tell the client to deal with the problem because it’s not your problem. If the client has a problem, it becomes your problem. You are rendering a service to the public and you need to make sure your 3rd party company are there to make the clients life easier and not more difficult.
