I recently decided to try out the KFC branch located near the Glen Mall instead of my usual go-to, the Rifle Range KFC. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, but I had a slightly inconvenient experience with the service.
Upon ordering, we opted for the 15-piece bucket and 10-piece Zinger wings. The chicken pieces were freshly fried and tasted much better than what I'm used to at the Rifle Range location.
However, I found the Zinger wings to be lacking in flavor and spice compared to what I usually enjoy.
The drive-through experience was smooth on a Sunday afternoon around 4 PM. However, there was a slight hiccup during the collection process. The cashier mentioned that I would receive my invoice at the collection area.
However, when I received my food, no invoice was provided. I inquired about it, and they had to go back and retrieve it, which took approximately five minutes. Finally, when the person returned with the invoice, I was asked to park in the waiting area to receive it.
At that point, I decided to forgo the invoice and proceed without it. Additionally, during the transaction, the cashier requested a donation of R2 for three kids, and I obliged. I sincerely hope that the money reaches the right hands as intended.
Despite the minor inconvenience with the service, I must commend the KFC at the Glen Mall for the excellent quality of their chicken. The flavors were exceptional, and the chicken was freshly prepared, making it a delightful surprise.
I believe that the staff at this branch could improve the service by ensuring that invoices are provided at the collection point, eliminating the need for customers to wait or park separately for it. This small adjustment would greatly enhance the overall experience for patrons.
