This would have been 5 stars but because of the manager it will be 4 stars.Let me start off by saying that manager in this establishment is absolutely useless, you will have better luck trying to cure chronic diseases then this guy being usefull.Upon entering we were told they have a special,2 for 1 on the beer which is R80 for 2,as we receive the bill each one was charged seperately(6 beers were ordered in total) ,so we asked the Waiter why and she said the special ended however the Waiter that sat us down told us the special is still active, not her fault as no one in the management told her it was no longer available, however our current waitress who's service was outstanding asked for the manager to speak to us but for 20 minutes the idiotic manager kept running and walking around kept on saying his coming and never did, eventually we just paid the normal amount and left,we have no problem paying if the special is over but atleast grow a pair to come and speak to the table about it instead of scolding the waitress in front of everyone for a mistake that wasn't hers if she wasnt notified of the changes.Judging by all the reviews I'm not the only one who had a problem with the manager.
now onto the great food in the restaurant !!!

Read moreSo I decided to end my wife's bday by taking her to Tiger's Milk New Market - I send them an email asking them if they can help make it special and a lady by the name of Nomfundo replies, asking Chris the GM to assist with my request. We go to the establishment, the second in charge guy acknowledges seeing the request from Nomfundo and we are sat down. Long story short, nothing happend to help make my wife's bday special.
I wasn't going t review this place up until I started chatting to a lady i know who visited the establishment yesterday for her uncle's PhD graduating celebrations - she says Tiger's Milk looks good outside but nothing special inside, the outside creates an illusion and she has regrets bringing her uncle who's all the way from KZN. That's a goodbye to a potential repeat customer, including me.
Here's my detailed review of the place:
Ambiance and Atmosphere Lack of unique decor: Well the decor is not distinctive or memorable. Insufficient outdoor seating to escape the smokers: No matter where you seat the smoke reaches you and I saw people brought their kids, i also had brought my son. The smoking issue - bring your kid at your own risk?
Beverage and Food Options Uninspired food menu: The food menu is not creative or extensive enough to appeal to customers like us who were seeking a more exciting dining experience. No signature drinks: I didn't see unique, signature cocktails that set you apart from other establishments.
Events and Entertainment Live music or events: Maybe they should consider live music performances, trivia nights, or other events to create a lively atmosphere.
Service and Staff Lack of knowledgeable staff: Oh well the lady that was serving us was ok but was not knowledgeable enough about the bar's offerings (especially my request she seems to have implied that we pay for cake and the kitchen staff have it decorated with"happy birthday"). We have cake in the house we didn't need it. So this led to a less engaging experience.
Overall Experience Lack of loyalty program: Tiger's Milk doesn't offer a loyalty program or rewards scheme to incentivize repeat visits. No unique selling points: They don't have any distinctive features or selling points that set them apart from other establishments in the area.
Luckily my wife is very chilled and I got her gifts earlier on to kickstart her day, the outing was to get her away from standing in the kitchen cooking on her bday. I had hopes in the ending of her bday being memorable but not formal in a romantic setup since we had our 12 years old son with. Maybe I should have picked a steak house, hired a date for my son to make it a double date. 🤔
If you want to taste steak in your mouth, while inhaling smoke in your nose and sitting upstairs, I suggest you make your way to New Market...
Read moreAfter visiting this place 2 previous times, which the first time was the best ever, second time not so good, I blamed myself for not booking in advance, today I decided to book to take my family there, specifically requested a certain sitting place. Unfortunately upon booking the service wasn't as great, I didn't receive the welcome energy, seemed as though the guy was in a rush to get rid of us, anyways brushed that off and left, my family wasn't keen on going there after that, which resulted in us arriving late for our initial booking time, which in any case was good coz as we arrived the reserved table was occupied, and they placed us on the high tables, I told our waiter that I had originally booked for that sitting, I pointed at the place, the waiter said he's going to ask the manager what to do coz the place is occupied...we waited there, the manager didn't even bother coming to talk to us, the waiter came back and told us the manager told him to sit us at the tables by the entrance, which were also high btw, we refused, then waiter went to speak to another manager, which was the same guy who handled my booking, guy said we should wait as there's people paying and they will leave, while waiting he came and told us to go sit at another table, which felt like we were in a board room, a long table by the entrance, depicting the whole reason for us going there in the first place, we wanted to sit as a family, chat and laugh, now in a sitting like that it felt like everyone was in their own place, now we can't really converse. Thanx to our waiter, he went above and beyond to try and make the situation better, as he realized that we were not happy, for that reason I didn't even order food due to how angry I was, back to the previous time, the second time I visited, we were sitted by the table right next to the toilets, so when I saw an empty space away from the toilets, I went and politely asked if we could move over, the guy that booked us today, told me that the place is reserved for some guy and he specifically asked for that one, which is what motivated me to book so I can get the sit I wanted, only to be disappointed by being placed as if they were doing us a favor. The waiter was great though, really tried to turn the situation around. Ow and normally when we go there, my 9year old daughter asks for dried fruits, lemons specifically and she usually gets, no questions and no troubles, but today she was told they are only for garnishing and they are counted. Very disappointed by today's service. It will take me a while before I...
