It's Wimpy so the food is as good as you expect. I was incredibly shocked and disappointed by the attitude of the staff. It was 3:38pm Saturday afternoon 28th May 2022 when a couple came in and the front reception said they would not be able to help them as the restaurant closes at 4pm. The staff then proceeded to laugh and joke about the customers disappointment. At around 3:45pm the staff started bringing in the tables and chairs from outside while we were finishing our meal and it made the atmosphere extremely uncomfortable as they kept hinting that they wanted to go home. I do not know where management was but I will never set foot in this restaurant again. The staff's manners were completely unacceptable. Unfortunately I have to give 1 star to post my review, I would have preferred no stars.
So it's 3 weeks after this incident and I've had numerous calls and was supposed to be contacted by the manager Florence as advised by Famous Brands. I to this day have not received that call or resolution to what happened. I'm highly disappointed that this type of behavior is allowed and also it seems to be swept under the...
Read moreVerily, upon the morn of mine visitation to the Wimpy at Comaro Crossing, I was most graciously attended by a gentle soul named Hope, whose service did shine brighter than the noonday sun.
From the moment mine feet did cross the threshold, Hope did greet me with a countenance full of warmth and mirth, as though I were a long-lost kinsman returned from distant lands. Her manner was courteous, her speech most pleasant, and her attentiveness unmatched in all the realm of hospitality.
She did take mine order with great care and precision, and lo! The victuals were brought forth with haste, yet not lacking in quality nor presentation. The repast was hearty and well-prepared, and Hope did ensure mine cup was never empty, nor mine needs unattended.
In sooth, such excellence in service is rare, and Hope hath set a standard most high. I commend her with all sincerity, and declare unto all who seek good fare and fair treatment: make thy way to the Wimpy at Comaro Crossing, and pray that Hope be thy steward.
Thus I end this humble account, with gratitude in mine heart and joy upon...
Read moreVisited Wimpy today for lunch. I am fully aware it was loadshedding, yet the burgers arrived ice cold. Chips were a mixture of old, cold and oily ones and defrosted, ice cold sloppy ones. Called waitress to point this out. She had a very blaze attitude and told me to scrape the chips into a side plate. She wanted me to do the same with my husband's chips, which to the obvious eye couldn't be done, as there wasn't enough space. She didn't return with replacement chips. Eventually another lady came to our table to inform us the gas stove is "tired" and they can't make more chips. Offered R10 of the meal to charge for the burgers only. Found it surprising, as another meal with chicken and chips passed our table and seemed OK? Hand written croxley slip as bill wasn't even correctly completed, figures reflected wrong. Wrote 2 cokes, but amount stated was for one. Service was slow.
Must be honest, this is not the standard of food Wimpy has offered South Africans over the years. It seems, there is a difference, depending on location,...
