Wimpy — Restaurant in Gauteng

Wait wait wait....is this regular chilli sauce here, or is it the franchisee's own brand? Tastes like chilli powder and water/oil. Ate here many times. There's this mature waiter here (middle aged), can't remember his name...uses a Stetson hat I think. Really cool guy. Intelligent, hospitable, has a passion for his job (naturally, not overdone). He's the only thing that gets me back here. Intermittent service in general though. Obviously quick service when quite, but all goes south when a tad busy. I once sat here (after a host seated me), for over 20 minutes without acknowledgement from any waiter. Yes, within that time, I did get the attention of the host again for service to no avail. Even if I'm not ordering, at least acknowledge the presence of a guest, and simply say I'll be with you as soon as I can, we're just a little busy, and that's understood. Most terrible visit to a Wimpy ever! After we were shown to a table, it was another 15 minutes before we could get the attention of a waiter and place our order. When the food came, it was a further disappointment and incredibly underwhelming. The food on the plate was an extremely failed attempt at the food on the menu. The waiter was even embarrassed to serve me the portion of ribs and returned it to the kitchen before I could say anything about it. Not that it helped cause when he brought back the "corrected portion" it was all just the same. The wings were just drenched in the the peri-peri sauce. My husband's steak and BBQ chicken looked like something you'd serve the dog. This was absolutely terrible. My experience at this wimpy was not very good.

A simple order of two breakfast meals ( Lekker breakfast and omelette with toast) took over 40-50 min for this order to be prepared and served.

The food was not well prepared. The corn biscuit did not have the same look as other wimpy branches and it was still slightly raw inside (soggy and wet).

No regular bacon on the menu. Whilst we appreciate that this wimpy serves the Muslim community within the region , it should also take into consideration that non-Muslim customers would like to eat at this venue and they would like to have the option of eating bacon as per the regular wimpy menu.
