Bootlegger Green Point — Restaurant in Green Point

Tragic experience today (Sunday 7th August 2022) 🤢. We waited 45 minutes for two meals. Why the delay! I said to my wife, the place was almost empty.

Eventualy two the meals arrived! YES, food 👊. Chips were cold and soggy, (Cold Fat) chicken over cooked to a frazel 🙄 I am not a fussy eater but, no way I could eat that. Cold and soggy food. My wifes meal will be fine right! Nup.. to make it worse, my wife had sausage and mash, the mash and peas must have been under the hot plate for the full time we were waiting.. dried like cement, no kidding...

I had to send the food back, it was impossible to eat. The manager apologised and agreed with me the meal was poor. Hold on! They then charged me in full for the beer and Coke? 😕 when you consider we had to waited 45 mins for the meal, that was terrible. I don't mind paying, we did drink them. It was poor of the management to do this, when you consider the food quality and time waiting. We paid and left.

Poor decision on the part of the management. We are here for three months they lose...

I really love Bootlegger and go there for coffee almost every day, but this visit on a Sunday afternoon was unfortunately disappointing :(

We came for a relaxed lunch, hoping to read and get a bit of work done, but the service didn’t meet the usual standard. We had to remind the staff about most of our order: No cutlery was brought to the table; The food came cold; We got regular fries instead of sweet potato; The grilled cheese wasn’t grilled, and the cheese was barely melted.

The food itself was still tasty, but the overall service and energy from our waitress made us feel pretty unwelcome. She avoided eye contact, was hard to get hold of, and seemed uninterested the whole time.

As much as I love Bootlegger and appreciate the quality and consistency at other branches, I left this one feeling a bit disappointed.

I know everyone can have an off day, and I hope it was just that. Still, it would be nice to see more warmth and attention at this location — because the space and the food really...

Had a breakfast there. Not only was it delicious, and the menu had some originality other than the usual breakfast menu's one would see at restaurants - but on this particular day I experienced some kind of anxiety attack right there while eating my breakfast, I was pretty scared as couldn't breathe and just basically felt like I was going to collapse. So I sat there quietly trying to compose myself, a waitress saw that I have not finished my meal and asked if everything was okay, I explained to her what's happening and she got me a water and was just basically really nice in quietly assisting me. I don't like attention being drawn to me and so I really appreciated that.

I would like to point out that Bootlegger will play the rugby on Saturdays for those looking to eat & entertain with sport, however, it's not played with sound which I can understand for the rest of the customers not wanting to watch sport, but maybe try offering a solution for the many people like...
