I have attended three big events at this stadium since 2010 World Cup and it is always a pleasure and a fun, scenic experience! Most recent attendance was the Imagine Dragons concert, my first proper concert experience at this stadium, and I was blown away by not only the setup but the effects, seating capacity, general cleanliness (for such a vast public space that frequently hosts major events) and food trucks they had/have dotted around the outer stadium. The bathrooms are clean and there are plenty on each level. If attending a concert, standing or premium seated seem to be the best. I had premium seated (Lower Tier 116 Red - Row: 12 Seat: 33) and it was ideal. Comfortable, quick and easy getting in and out and no queuing for ages beforehand. Literally went to queue 45 mins before the gates opened. My view of the stage and concert experience from my seat was perfect too. The only issue on the day was concert staff and security were friendly but a bit clueless and directionless until the gates opened and we were inside, so there was some disorganisation in that sense - but that falls more on concert organisers, I feel. If you attend an event here, parking is your biggest concern. I recommend parking at the V&A (but maybe only if you go in a big group and it is safe to walk back at night; it's a short-ish walk), otherwise use P10 near the Green Point park like we did. It was safe, secure and nice parking but you do need to nab a spot early. Leaving from big events takes time with the traffic - so you can safely add an extra 30-60 mins onto your event just to get from the stadium into CBD side.

I have been to the Cape Town Stadium a couple of times, most recently for the URC (United Rugby Championship) Semi-Final & Final, and I can honestly say I am impressed every time I visit. The stadium is truly world class. It is beautifully designed and is effortless to navigate, with food and drink stalls as well as bathrooms being conveniently spaced out and easy to find. The seats are comfortable and you will be hard-pressed to find one that hasn't got a good view of the field. There are also a number of restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity, including the V&A Waterfront, where you can go for a pre-game meal or some post-game celebrations. It is important to note that the MyCiti bus service also has a station close by.

The Cape Town Stadium, I think is a good fit for Cape Town. One has a good sight of the ongoings on the field. When full there is a beautiful vibe especially if the team that you support is doing well. I did find the P. A . System can do with a bit of an upgrade. One couldn't hear announcements clearly. I also feel that the "big screens" need to larger. It was quite difficult for a person with compromised vision i.e. a senior citizen like myself who wears specs, to see clearly especially the sport replays. The high cost of food is criminally expensive!!! As a senior citizen on a government pension to have to pay R45 for an ice cream on a stick is downright day light robbery. This item one could buy in a shop at R10. I do believe that whoever is responsible for food and beverage side of running the Stadium needs to investigate and put measures in place to control these costs. Either the stallholders are greatly overcharging and making huge profits in a short space of time or they are forced to charge these huge prices to cover the exorbitant rentals that they are being charged by Stadium Management. This cannot be allowed to go on. On the occasion of the URC rugby final there was a huge crowd of something like 50 000 people. This meant that one had to be in the Stadium at 3 hours before kickoff. Now since one is not allowed to bring your own food into the Stadium, one is now forced to buy food inside same. For a family of 4 (Father, Mother and 2 children) it would cost a small fortune to keep them all fed for 5 to 6 hrs. OUCH, OUCH, OUCH!!! I also felt that as a first time attendee, it was difficult to find the entrance to the stands that we needed to use. There were insufficient, properly trained ushers available. We had to be moved more that once as we had been directed by security personnel to the incorrect seating positions. Very annoying!!! The City of Cape Town laid on transport to and from the Civic Centre at no cost. Very well done. On leaving the Stadium after the event one had to enter the underground parking area then traverse through a tunnel to catch the bus back to the Civic Centre. There were no officials with loudhailers on hand to direct passengers to the correct boarding areas. In a 100m long tunnel where the only movement was forward one felt like cattle being herded to the Abbatoir. It took more than half and hour to get out of same on a stop, start procession waiting for busses to arrive back from their last trip. My great fear was for people who were claustrophobic would be overcome as well as us senior citizens who have health issues could get sick being caught up in that throng. Not a good idea for this system to be used. I do believe that there were and are alternatives but I won't say anything about that. There was not preferential arrangements made for us senior citizens or the sickly. I guess in this case we should just have stayed away. As a first time user, I don't think that I would want to attend an event of this magnitude at the stadium again. Thank you very much. I sincerely hope that the Mayor reads this review. Signing off along with the great disappointment that the Stormers Rugby team dished up on the night when they were supposed to "MAKE CAPE TOWN SMILE" . Most when away absolutely miserable at the loss.

First time visiting this stadium and went to the Calabash festival on 31 January 2024. Lots of seating inside, several security measures in place (perhaps because of the festival not sure if this is the procedure for all other events held here). I don't know whether the sound issues were because of the equipment used or just the artists. You'll notice on the photos and videos that we didn't have the best seating (221, row 5) but you could still see the stage and it's a festival so you're actually there to hear the music/performance). The first line up started just after 5pm and the stadium wasn't packed because a lot of people actually wanted to just see Maroon 5. So the speakers were bouncing of one another due to the massive space available. However once it was Maroon 5s time to perform (like 10pm) the placed got filled fast and the sound of the instruments was fine. Could barely hear Adam Levine when he was talking or singing. I saw on TikTok that the stage seaters had the same sound problem. Maybe it was his voice which is way too soft for the musical. The alcohol sold was Klipdrift and cola, Benini, Savanah and Heineken - very limited and it was R60. You got your alcohol served in a plastic cup. Lots og food options available from Steers to long chips and hotdogs. Plenty of vendors walking throughout the rows selling ice cream, popcorn, chips and biltong as well as drinks. We arrived at 4h30pm and left at 11h35pm. The music played outside of the stadium by one of the tents selling alcohol was better than the actual performers (national and international) who performed. The ladies bathroom baffled me as the actual wash up room is around the corner from the cubicle. Some cubicles didn't have toilet paper but the cleaners were at least working throughout the night. Lovely views of Table Mountain when you stand outside the stadium. I can't comment on the parking as there were lots of parking spaces for like R100 for the day (crazy). We didn't pay for parking so hence why I can't really comment on that.

The security that search at the gates don’t understand the seating. They often get the block numbers or seating numbers confused with the gate numbers and then require you to go to a different gate entrance than your block or seating so you have to walk really far to get to an entrance that is not the entrance for your block or seating. They also get quite aggressive when you try to explain it to them so get ready to do a lot of walking even though you might know exactly where your block or seat is. They don’t always check the tickets at the security search point. So sometimes they only search you and then you move onto the ticket check in point to scan you ticket without any aggression from search security to tell you to go to another gate.

The match between the Stormers and Edinburgh earlier this evening was very enjoyable. There was lots of action by both teams, but the majority were happy their team won. The homecrowd did lots of cheering and kept the 'gees' going. The stadium is a perfect venue for a large crowd to have good views of the game and to feel part of the action. The race of dinosaurs at half time was fun. It is easy and quick to vacate the stadium, and I was pleased to see so many people taking their litter to the bins provided. The security is always in place. The traffic department did a good job of keeping the routes flowing. I am looking forward to the next opportunity to watch the next game.
