My family came as a party of 5. Our table would probably only be sufficient for 3 people as we were stuffed on a high table at the end near the back of the bar. One very skinny person in the corner literally has 20cm of space and the planter boxes extend far into the usable space of the table. While we were positioned so close to the bar we could all see how dirty the floor of the bar area was and it didnât appear to be the kind of dirt that accumulated over the day from normal operation. Furthermore, Every time the bar staff opened a bottle, it was thrown into a waste bin so loudly and without warning, it could nearly give a person a heart attack from shock. It was very disruptive to a good conducive dinner environment. My entire family had burgers, all ranging from beef to vegan. The burgers were okay, a little under seasoned but okay. The fries were a complete mess. They seemed to be triple fried at too low of a temperature which made them soggy and full of oil. The Cajun fries were an afterthought as they only had a couple of dashes of a seasoning blend sprinkled on top. If you are going to sell Cajun fries they should be seasoned properly, tossed in a bowl and plated. Not a few shakes on top. There is no way the seasoning can carry through to the bottom. But letâs face it, the fries in the bottom were a disgusting oily mess that shouldnât be eaten. I had a Caesar salad in addition which I believe is likely the source of stomach cramps, vomiting. And a running stomach which started the following morning. I say this because it is the only food item that differed from everyone else in my family and we all had eaten the same food for the 4 meals that led up to our visit here. To make things worse, we traveled over 950km the day after our visit, so just imagine dealing with those symptoms on a long road trip. If the front of house bar area was so filthy, I cannot even imagine what the kitchen looked like. This is a shame, We wanted to give a good review as we had a really good server and the vibe was good, but seating people on an inadequate table just to bring them in, coupled with poor cleanliness and loud shocking noise from the bar, but mostly the issue with the food is inexcusable. It shows a lack of care to the customer and places making money far above putting out a great product. Absolute shame, I cannot recommend and I will not bring my family back. I hope these complaints help you improve your approach towards your customers in the future, but we are unfortunately not...
Read moreMy partner and I visited this restaurant late one night the last week of March 2025. We were looking for a place with good food and a nice ambiance and Hudsons seemed like the right fit. As it was very late in the evening, the restaurant wasnât very busy with the exception of a few small groups of young people. Our waiter, a young woman, was friendly and took our orders very fast, however it took about 30 minutes until it was brought to our table. I ordered the howling wolf salad as well as their homemade iced tea. Although the ingredients in the salad sounded delicious, I was surprised to find it tasting abnormally salty but didnât say anything and ended up eating the entire plate as I was hungry. Shortly after, I started having a mild stomach ache but I didnât think much of it. The waitress brought us the bill once we were finished, and I was surprised she had charged us for âextra chickenâ on the salad, when it was already in the saladâs description. I double-checked on the menu to confirm and then asked her to remove the additional charge. I usually wouldnât do this, but it didnât feel right to be charged for something that was already included in the price. After over 15 minutes of waiting for a revised bill, my partner and I were starting to get impatient and almost just decided to pay the original bill. Our waitress apologized and finally brought in the revised bill. She was sweet and we just assumed she was new on the job and didnât make a big deal out of it. However, as we were walking home, I started feeling increasingly sick. I ended up being sick for 5 days straight after eating the howling wolf salad, which I attributed to some kind of food poisoning. I very rarely get sick from eating food (Iâve tried foods from all around the world) and, sadly, I donât think Iâll ever return to Hudsons...

We visited their branch in Greenpoint. The interior is styled like a sports bar â a genuine casual eatery. We sat at the counter by the window. There are plenty of seats available.
FOOD:
We werenât very hungry but were looking for a nearby place to enjoy a good burger, and our eyes fell on Hudson with their variety of burgers. We chose the signature Wagyu burger â the chefâs recommendation. Visually, the burger looked fantastic: massive, multi-layered, with golden buns and fries. Unfortunately, the taste profile was disappointing. The patty was thin and, notably, had a sinewy texture, which got lost between the thick bread buns (I prefer brioche buns because they donât overpower the filling but rather frame the meat). Here, the flavor was very bread-heavy; the pickles were overly vinegary, and the sauce didnât save the dish. The fries were too thick and soggy â lacking crunch and salt. Itâs a shame this is their signature burger; I suspect the others have a similar profile.
SERVICE:
The service was excellent. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive, occasionally making amusing jokes. We felt like genuinely welcomed guests.
VERDICT:
I would rate this burger as average. Perhaps because they have been around for a while, they lack a fresh perspective on their food. Itâs still a great spot for hanging out with a lively group, but I wouldnât recommend it if youâre looking for flavorful, juicy burgers rather than just...
