Today is the 21 September 2024...its a cold saturday later afternoon the cooldest saturday of 2024.My family and I decided to go out for something to eat since we have not been to an outing in a while. We reside in around Krugersdorp and thought since its cold we would not want to spend too much time on the road on route to our outing My wife looked for a few places on the internet until she came across the Boomhuise next to Viljoen street in krugeadorp north , we cleaned the house and around 3pm made our way to the place.

Upon driving towards the place one is greeteed with cars parked along side the road next to Boomhuise, we then saw an open space on our left hand side gated with palisade then decided to drive in and park our car.

We got out of the car as a family over the street we went towards the Boomhuise

Upon entering we were greeted with many doors but no sign of the actual e trance into the said resturant, we thhen went through a door which we hoped was the correct door into the venue. At this point we are inside but dont know to turn left, right forward or go back, we went further in and decided to find a table on our own big enough to fit our family size

About 5 minutes after settling in a lady came wearing. Fawn coat with fairy mink like hair on the collar.

We ordered drinks first which took over 30 minutes to be served, at this point the kids myself and my wifer are not impressed.

I asked the lady why it took so long to serve the drinks, she said the machine was broken.

We decided to order anyway and asked how long our order will take, we were told 30 minutes.

As iam writing this review the 30 minutes has passed and we are still waiting.

Long story short

Boomhuise lacks customer service., we felt unwelcomed.. My wife and i left the place in lower spirits compared to how we left the house, my daughther vomitted the milk shake Boomhuis served.

The place is cramped up, no spaces betweeb tables. We felt like we went back in time

Poor customer service Very cold enery. That has nothing to do with todays weather just the energy in the place is cold

I would not recommend this place Its my first and last time

I dont see Boomhuis attracting new diverse customers

This place looks like it survives on a partucular niche marked, i dont see it growing

My opinion Boomhuise is living in the past and inwward looking,, not in tune with modern ...

This restaurant is set along a busy road, with access to street parking and a guard watching your car. I also saw him washing someones car so that's cool. The restaurant has outdoor seating, an outside bar and indoor seating with a home-style vibe.

As a POC in a mixed race relationship, I felt really unwelcome there by the owner but I didn't want to ruffle feathers as I was invited to breakfast so I didn't voice my frustration. The same owner repeatedly asked every other table how their day was, food, service etc, never came near my table. The wait staff were brilliant and knowledgeable and friendly, I can't fault their service although it was a little slow, could be a backlog in the kitchen. We all ordered breakfast. Their omelettes were good. I don't understand the concept of the liver dish. Their hot chocolate and red cuppachino were delicious so thats a plus.

We desperately need non franchised restaurants that have interesting menus and a wide selection of food, however this one, I'd...

We were booked for Christmas Buffet Lunch - I would absolutely not recommend you and your family do this. It was our worst Christmas to date. Event was unorganized. No one at the door to help with where you are supposed to go. Waiters non-existent for drink orders, if you didn't order everything you think you'd need for the sitting, you'd most likely not get a second chance. Food was borderline mediocre, some way overcooked and inedible (meats were ok). Dessert of the day was ice-cream and a few smaller sweet treats like koeksisters etc (not very 'Chrismissy'). They didn't even have dessert bowls for the ice-cream, we had to eat it with plastic spoons and a dinner plate. Other treats were really not worth it - nothing wowed us. We found a hair in the dessert, we were told it was the people they ordered from. Table behind us also had complaints on the day. They made a bit of effort with making up the tables, which was appreciated. All in all, a horrible...

What a setting!! In the middle of suburbia is a quaint little coffee shop/restaurant with a very idyllic setup. Very big fish pond in the middle of the garden. The garden tables are strewn all over and there are no table clothes that match. The inside is quite spacious with loads of seating, they would easily be able to cater for groups. The menu is extensive and not badly priced. I had a Double cheeseburger with bacon. Very very tasty!!! The staff are all very friendly and welcoming! Big thumbs up for this location!!!

This is one of my wife’s favorite places to eat. I must say that I have never been here without being seated immediately. The atmosphere is quiet and there is a vintage look to the decor. Much like a farmhouse restaurant. For breakfast it is nice to sit under the trees. The food does take some time, but it is worth the wait. Been here quite a few times already and I will recommend dining here. Good value for money, especially the eisbein.
