Our waiter was not attentive at all. He got our order wrong and then tried to still make my partner eat the wrong order! How can you force a vegan to eat cheese?! We ordered dry burritos and he came with one dry burrito and one wet burrito. He then proceeded to tell my partner that he can still eat the order that he got WRONG, a wet burrito with CHEESE for a VEGAN. Not only that, our food was waiting at the kitchen for so long that my burrito was extremely soggy. Waiting for my partners second burrito took forever as well. One would think that an order that was messed up would be prioritised. We had to just ask for the bill and get the second burrito as a takeaway instead. Even THAT took so long! We thought our waiter had given us the fresh burrito in the brown bag he handed to us, but he hadn't. We almost walked out the restaurant paying for all the food whilst not even receiving half of it! The waiter that messed up the order did not even apologise for getting the order wrong, nor did he apologise for the long wait or the fact that we asked for the second burrito to be given as a takeaway twice, and he did not even fulfil that request. We called upon another waiter to see if he could find out where our starters were, he came back and told us "your waiter is busy so just hold on". Excuse me what? OUR waiter, the waiter supposed to be attending to us is too busy to do his job? I could not believe this stroppy answer we received.
My partner and I come to this restaurant during the week when it's not so busy, but you're telling me that when the restaurant gets even slightly busy the waiter loses sense? I could not believe the disgraceful service we received here. It was ABSOLUTELY shocking.
Once a fairly frequent visitor but this restaurant will certainly not be seeing me again....
Read morePlease be aware that this review was done shortly after Lockdown was eased to level 2 and therefore this may not represent La Rosa's typical standards:
The venue was amazing and atmosphere was really friendly. As far as prices go they were definitely on the pricier side and for some meals you could see the value, on others definitely not. We tried some of their tacos which were really, Really good. But unfortunately we also tried their La Rosa Burrito, which was bland at the best of times and funny tasting the rest. The fact that the burrito contained a large amount of rice to bulk it up didn't help the situation much. We then decided to end the meal with their cake dessert, which was a mistake. It had the texture of a rusk that was drowned in syrup and left for a month to it's own devices. It was also served with a shot of some white liquid (We assume it could have been the "Three milk" thing the menu mentioned) that was nothing short of repellent. It honestly tasted of fish somehow. Additionally I fear they must have had to deal with people running away from the bill in the past, Because after I settled my bill with a different waiter (I had been waiting a while to see our waiter pass by, so I simply asked a different passing waiter to bring the card machine) and left the restaurant I nearly got tackled by our waiter who feared we hadn't paid. Even after I confirmed to her that I had paid, she requested proof, so I gave her our card slip (Which was embarrassing as this was taking place in front of my wife and onlookers). A pretty great lunch unfortunately lessened by a dodgey dessert and an...
Read moreBy far the worst restaurant experience I ever had the displeasure of being subjected to. We had a reservation indoors, but upon arrival we were told that because of the rain people were moved in and our tables became unavailable.
After a while of waiting we were asked if we could sit outside in the cold. For a good while we were then ignored. Eventually when the waiter decided to take our drinks order, he took forever to bring most of our drinks. One guy waited almost 20 minutes for his beer, and a lady in our group even longer for water.
The menu is printed in a faint red and black which is almost impossible to read in the dim outside light. Some guests were unfamiliar with Mexican cuisine, and the waiter did a fantastic job of confusing them even more.
A simple request to be moved inside because the restaurant died down somewhat brought a rather cocky manager to our table. He seemed quite agitated that he had to do us a favour.
Then the food arrived. Dull, bland and tasteless is the kindest words I can think of to describe it. Not once were we offered new drinks. 30 minutes after finishing my overpriced beer I went to the rest room for a sip of water. It is not up to me to beg the waiter to give good service. It is up to him to do service justice. It did not happen.
I only ate my food because I had to pay for it, not because I enjoyed it. After the meal I got up, and waited for my friends outside, as I was by now not in a pleasant mindset anymore.
Never, never again will I set foot near this...
