"Shalow Waters Chinese Sushi Restaurant is a fantastic spot for anyone who enjoys a mix of Chinese cuisine and sushi. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and seated in a cozy corner. The ambiance is delightful, with a modern yet inviting decor that sets the perfect mood for a relaxing meal.
The menu offers a great variety of dishes, from classic Chinese entrees to beautifully crafted sushi rolls. I started with some dim sum, which was steaming hot and flavorful. The sushi was fresh and artfully presented, and the sashimi was incredibly tender and melt-in-your-mouth.
The service was impeccable; our waiter was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that we had everything we needed. We also appreciated the reasonable prices, making it a great value for the quality of food and service.
I would definitely recommend Shalow Waters for anyone looking for a satisfying meal with a blend of Chinese and sushi options. Whether you're out with friends or on a date night, it's the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal and...
Read moreI used to be a huge fan of this place, always giving it a solid 5-star rating without hesitation. The food was consistently top-notch, with flavors that would leave me craving more after every visit. However, my recent experiences have been disappointing. The quality of the dishes has noticeably declined.
The once perfectly seasoned meals now lack the depth and richness they were known for. Portions seem smaller, and the freshness of the ingredients is questionable at times. Lacking taste compared to previous orders with regards to taste, chilly and even spinach, feels like the passion that once fueled the kitchen has waned, leading to a mediocre dining experience.
I hope this is just a temporary dip and that the restaurant can return to its former glory, but for now, it’s a 3-star from me. Here’s hoping they turn things around soon!
Will not order from Shalow Waters again in the...
Read moreI have officially given up on finding a good sushi place in the West Rand. Shallow waters was the last straw.
I ordered a Combo 6 through Uber Eats. At first glance, the presentation was good however my excitement did not last long. The fashion sandwiches were extremely dry and chewy and they had barely a sliver of salmon in them. They were basically 90% rice. The rainbow rolls had so much cucumber that it overpowered the taste of the salmon and the rice. And to top it all off the avocado in all the pieces of sushi were hard and not ripe at all. You would think the chef would notice this as they cut the avocado. Another downside was that the ginger that came with it was dry and barely tasted pickled.
Overall very disappointing considering that this place is pricier than most sushi spots in the area.
That’s R400 I’ll never...
