We often visit the Tap Room, either after work to sit out traffic, or we would have lunch with colleagues. This past Monday was no different. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy. It was just after 12pm, so lunch would have just started, so I was surprised they didn't have one of dishes available, which was the chicken tacos.

That said, my colleagues and I ordered a few other dishes which wasn't really a large order, and what I would consider a light snack. We had the broccoli, chips, wings and the nachos. The first few items were amazing, but gosh, the nachos arrived cold, and tasted strange, almost like it had been standing for a while. I have had this item before, so I knew what it would taste like. It was not great, and we ended up eating less than half of it.

What was most surprising is that the waiter seemed indifferent when we mentioned it. We paid for the food, but we didn't get any reassurance that management or the kitchen will be alerted. I was quite disappointed, as I am quite fond of this establishment. I am hoping this was just an odd day, so I will be back, but this is just something for management to...

Went for a lunch with a few friends and it was a very disappointing experience…

When we arrived we had to look for someone to be seated, and proceeded to wait 5-10 minutes before we had to ask if we could see a menu.

After that you would expect a brewery’s taproom to offer beer towers or even 330ml glasses but we were told they were unavailable.

We ordered the truffle fries for starters and couldn’t even finish them there was so much oil dripping off of them. After telling the waiter he didn’t quite know how to respond and then took the rest to the bar for the staff to finish.

Our main meals were also disappointing. The lamb burger was cold and considerably smaller than the other burgers and the nachos were bland.

The general atmosphere was just nonexistent… for 5pm on Saturday you’d expect there to be more than just two other tables.

The staff seemed like they just didn’t care, drinking and smoking outside while the manager did not sit up from the bar and her phone for the two hours we were there.

For such an established brand and prime location I don’t know how this could...

Went here for a post work beer with some friends and ended up having some of their food too.

Beers were delicious, as expected. I ordered the First Light (Pale Ale) and later had their new Dead Reckoning (Juicy IPA). Both were fantastic. One of my friends ordered the wine on tap and was happy with both quality and quantity.

Ordered food, the Taproom cheeseburger and the East Coast Hake with roasted cauliflower gratin, beer cheese and friend onion.

The fried onions were really well made, light and crispy as was the batter on the fish which was also full of flavour.

The Taproom cheeseburger was well made, a thick beef patty with various sauces, cheese and gherkin. It was packed with flavour. As for the rosemary fries on the side, they were deliciously well-made and the dipping sauces provided were a really nice touch.

Desserts were also delicious.

It's worth noting that on the bill 10% is automatically added. I did not notice this until my SnapScan was prompting me to pay a lower amount. It's then I noticed that 10% is added by default, even though we were only...

Really great place. The beer is crafty and has some really good IPAs on tap. Hats off to the brew team. There has been a lot of thought out into the decor and setup of the restaurant. It's chill, but really nice inside. It's in a warehouse and industry part of town. Food = excellent. Had the burger and it was extremely tasty. Fried pickles are a good take on pickled veggies and then deep fried. Enjoyed every bite. Service was really great too. It's apparent they have some young staff. It's also apparent that someone is training them to be attentive and involved. The manager and servers worked as a team. Another tip of the hat. I'd recommend this place to visitors and locals alike.

The Taproom was somewhere in between great and awesome. The service was great. I really don't have anything to complain about. Besides the fact that mother nature ruled the weather, it was beautiful even whilst sitting in the rain. I enjoyed my meal although I think that the nachos meal base sauce needs a change. Maybe a basic nachos sauce would do. However I do think the portion was worth the price and the vibe was chilled. Maybe because I was there to early. But I would definitely recommend the Taproom and maybe go back there some time.
