Corlie's Italian — Restaurant in Somerset West

It's always nice to report on good things. Today, it's Collies Italian Pizza. I don't want to say anything about the other Collies in Somerset West and Strand, but I do want to talk about this one. I thought I had found my favorite pizza place. But I was wrong. A pizza like in a dream. The crust is slightly puffed at the edges but still crispy. The cheese is just right and the ham is real ham (not pressed ham), and the mushrooms are fresh and beautifully chopped. No, everything was just great. But the icing on the cake was that the place also sold little things from Italy. For example, dried mushrooms for risotto, chocolate from Italy, and delicious waffles. The place is just great. But the absolute highlight was that they had marmalade from Manz Gasser in Tyrol. For those who don't know the area, it's like finding Hillcrest marmalade in Frankfurt if you're from South Africa. Simply fantastic. And yes, the noisy atmosphere didn't bother me at all. Because a quiet pizzeria is a dead pizzeria. Pizzerias are lively family...

Not bad, but this place still needs LOTS of improvements!

Went there for lunch and asked for pasta. The answer was: we only serve pasta after 15:00 🤷‍♂️

We asked for still water and the answer was: we only have sparkling.

We asked for the bill and the answer was: you need to wait 5-10 minutes because my colleague is out with a delivery and she took the card machine with her.

We asked for Tabasco and the answer was: we don't have🤷‍♂️

We ordered 3 pizza and they bring first one, then after 5 minutes the second one, then after other 5 minutes the last one. 10 minutes later we finally had the forks, and knives too.

Come on guys! Come on!!! That pizza base is REALLY good, but PLEASE pay more attention to details, staff training and hurry up with that liquor...

Corlies Pizza is hands down one of our absolute favorite places! The service here is truly top-notch—every visit feels like being welcomed by family. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect.

And the food? Absolutely phenomenal! Every slice is packed with flavor, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. Whether it’s a classic pizza or something unique from their menu, it’s always fresh, delicious, and satisfying.
