Sadly my experience at the Vida et Caffè at The Sanctuary was negative due to the staff. They were sullen and seemed like I was pulling their teeth while trying to give my order. After speaking to head office it appears that staff pay for any cups used that are not allocated to a specific order, so for example if you buy a takeaway coca-cola you may not have a plastic container and ice to drink it from, it is sold in a can and thus you only get a can as you are not eating in. They also appear to be rationed with the amount of ice they may dispense as when ordering an Americano - "double shot with cold water over ice" (description taken directly off their menu), I was asked if I wanted milk (?) and when I asked about the ice was asked if I want 1 block or 3 (?). I have not been asked this before but usually receive a cold black coffee with ice cubes floating at the top. Needless to say the coffee was hot when I received it. The food was decent but not as good as at the previous Vida e's I have visited. Unless I have to be in The Sanctuary for some other reason I doubt I will try this Vida e...
Read moreI was utterly disappointed after an already bad experience at the N2 branch 2 days ago and general drop in standards at vida's all over. My toastie was made with 3 slices of Sasko brown bread instead of the normal 2 gourmet bread slices and this was not communicated to me. When I arrived there was no one in the shop and after the first attendant took my payment 2 other staff members later joined after sitting around at the back, but having no toasties or food ready. The toastie took 15 minutes to complete and this was never communicated. My coffee was so hot that after initially burning my mouth, I again burnt my mouth 10 minutes later in a different location. The coffee tasted bad after cooling down half an hour later, because the milk was burnt. I used to love vida for their premium food & beverage offerings and well trained and enjoyable staff. This branch and many others have unfortunately deteriorated quite badly in terms of service and quality of products. Training staff, quality control and supervision should be prioritized. Today was the second day of gyming at virgin active after recieving a warm welcome from the staff and patrons
After going to the gym, we thought of getting coffee at Vida and was met with a very unfriendly cashier/barista. We didn't know how to use the discovery reward or where to scan for a hot beverage as it was our first time, he suddenly became very irritated and mean with us. As a result, the atmosphere and service was extremely poor.
As we not people who will argue or be mean back , we left with a very bitter taste for the rest of the morning. Please take the necessary steps to make sure this doesn't happen again to anyone else as he will ruin...
