Roman's Pizza Somerset West — Restaurant in Somerset West

One of the worst customer experiences I've had to date. Told I could "buy my own avos if I wasn't happy".

Earlier, I ordered 4 pizzas online that my husband picked up around 25 minutes later. When we opened the pizza with bacon, avo and feta toppings we discovered that the avo was disgustingly brown and black - put us off of the pizza entirely.

When I called the branch with the complaint, they asked me to wait for the manager to phone me back. 10 minutes later the owner of the branch called me with an inexcusable attitude. She first told me that it can happen if the pizza is left long enough (which wasn't even the case), but then also that it can happen if the avos aren't in season, apparently. We politely asked if they could bring us a new pizza to swap with this one, as neither my husband and I, nor our guests where happy to eat it. I was then asked whether we were regulars, and when I replied with partially, was told that they would not be willing to deliver to us, nor give us a new pizza. Instead, if I drove back down to the shop, she would give me R50 to go "buy my own bag of avos". Really nice solution. A horribly sarcastic attitude, and no concern about customer care. I would like to also briefly mention that we found 2 bones in our BBQ chicken pizza. Yum.

Ordered 2 thin base pizzas, came there after 15 minutes and waited only for them to tell me that they made a mistake with one of them and wanted to fix it, which was okay and I waited, then finally when the order was completed and I wanted to leave, they apologized as they made the second one wrong as well, and wanted me to wait further more, I wasn't happy at all as I have already been waiting double the time due to the first mistake and now they wanted me to wait some more, I really don't understand after fixing the 1 pizza, how they didn't realize the second was wrong as well. The guy who made the same mistake twice just stood there with nothing to say, if it wasn't for my 2 hungry little girls I would just have asked my money back and go somewhere else. Unfortunately I wont supprt them again, not because they made the mistakes, but the way it was handled. O then the Jalapeño bolognaise almost...

Food - Almost invisibly, it seems the pizza quality/flavour has worsened in the last year. It was always an alright pizza to get when you wanted some fast food pizza, but now its just... nah

Service - Staff are great, never a problem.

Atmosphere - The establishment itself is no problem, but the character of people that hang around outside at night is a total no go. I've seen people getting into fights, customers harassed, my own family feeling downright uncomfortable waiting in the car as some guy who is a bit off his rocker (Some kind of drug user clear as daylight) is at my car window while my wife and son have to endure what he believes is "entertainment".

So much so I've called the police under the reason for public unrest/disruption, whatever you want to call it.

Either find a way to ward off this type of person in front of your store or...
