Seems like a nice place. I wanted to dine here with my wife and toddler. We saw a play area and thought it would be great for our toddler to enjoy while we eat. Well to our surprise the outside play structure was dirty, the swings wooden frames where broken. (I would rather suggest this be removed as its not safe for the kids.) Worst of all is that the kids play area is right next to outside smoking area and the outside smoking area is right next to one of the restaurants entrances, which is kept open the whole time. When I politely tried to just inform the manager that this was our first time here and we decided to go somewhere else due to our child's safety not being taking into consideration by the smoking area being right next to the kids play area. A light argument broke out with him try to defend/justified the situation. I saw this as being very rude as I just wanted to inform him that he just lost first time clients due to being negligent in regards to our child health and maybe he would want to do something about it.
Anyways this place will not see me again, and my word of mouth advertising will be negative until the manager decides to address the situations and invites us over so we can personally see for our self the issue has...
Read moreOur lunch at the Farmhouse today was a great disappointment. We ordered two toasted bacon and egg sandwiches, one with chips and one with a salad as sides. The bread had butter on the outside and was soggy, not toasted. The chips were almost brown and also soggy, looking like they had been re-cooked, perhaps in old oil. In brief they were inedible. The salad was insipid. When this was brought to the attention of the owner his response was that there was nothing wrong with their food. The only good thing we experienced there was the friendly service of the waitress. The Farmhouse is a place to be avoided. This was our second bad experience at this restaurant and certainly the last. PS. In fairness to the owner, he said he would look into the matter to see...
Read moreA very traditional place, I've not yet tried any food as they don't have many plant based options. Though I did used to get coffee here every Saturday morning. There used to be an additional charge for almond milk, but two weeks ago they increased the charge to R18 which is more than half the price of a coffee! A litter of oatmilk from a reputable brand such as oatly costs about R45. There is no way to justify the R18 surcharge, especially when considering that these milk substitutes are cheaper to produce when the total real cost is considered.
If you are an alternative milk drinker you are better off going down the road to wild eatery where the is no additional charge and the coffee is better...
