After having seen a Ryobi Edge Trimmer advertised on Game's website for a very good price, I decided to order one online. As delivery was advertised between 5-7 working days, I started following up on day 6. After long arguments and conversations, the item arrived almost 2 weeks later. I opened the box, just to find that there is no charger and battery. I then saw on the box that it comes without the battery and charger. (This is also published on their ad in small print. I then called the client services call centre, and was given multiple undertakings of feedback as to where I may buy these items. Not once did any of the promises materialise. I then reverted to the social media team, who undertook to get hold of the correct department, to establish where I can buy the battery and charger. I was given different stories from the social media team over a period of time. Once I was told the items are available at their N1 City Branch, then again, they don't sell the items. I was finally informed by Mirriam at Game's social media team, that I can buy the items at Ryobi direct, and offered to get their details for me. I refused the offer, and told her that I will not accept that they sell a product where another part is necessary to make it work, but is not for sale with them. Absolutely ludicrous!! After days of debating with the social media team, I asked them to collect the item and refund me. A day after the item was eventually collected, I enquired from the social media team as to when I may accept my refund. I was given different stories/ excuses every time. In fact all I got from the social media team, were generic responses. Two days ago I lost my temper with them on Twitter. They responded on my last tweet, to the effect that an agent has been appointed and I will receive feedback shortly. I heard nothing by this morning, and decided to call their call centre. I managed to speak to a gentleman who seemed helpful, and low and behold, he knew about my complaint as it was escalated by the social media team. I said to him the item was collected from me 11 days ago, upon which he informed me I must give them the proof. I said to him that they should have the proof as the courier, they appointed, collected, and signed for the item. I nevertheless said to him I have a document where the courier signed for having collected the item from me. He then said they also need my proof of banking details. (Could they not just refund the account the payment was made from?) All that said, I offered to supply them with the set of documents in order that I may get my hands on my own money. He undertook to immediately send me an email, so I could respond with the documents attached. Needless to say, it is now 10 hours later, and I have still not received an email. My son took a break as i was not well to fix it but on the day i got stengnth to fix his second tube we discovered the chain was loose, not only loose but with crack to almost broken. Thats when i decided th3 bike must return as it has failed its quality check and as a customer i had a right to return it. Not me and my disappointed 5 year, infact crying at the store for his new bike to be told by a manager at someeset west mall in cape town by a name of Sisi Connie i was told that she can take the bike the chain is not warranty, she completey dismissed me when i said i am not here for the warranty, this product has not been in use not even a month for me to be replacing broken chain. She was not interesred in customer rights amd my son left there crying. This brand must be removed from the shelfs and game must do better in procteting their customers. Whenever I ask for assistance on the floor or even just need to be pointed to the direction of the items I need at best I recieve a very uninterested, not even looking at me type of response. On one occasion me and my husband was left standing at a till for over 20mins without any communication from the cashier only to figure out she went to look for a price when she scanned the barcode in her hand.
