Grimaldis at the Durban Country Club is a perfect spot for a girls' day out. The setting is simply stunning, overlooking the ocean, with flowers and vines gracefully draping from the ceiling. The interior exudes a modern and chic ambiance, offering Instagram-worthy spots at every turn.
During our visit, we took advantage of the half-priced cocktails and sushi, their daily lunch specials, which turned out to be a fantastic deal. We indulged in a variety of sushi options, each one more delicious than the last. The classic California rolls with prawn and the Maki rolls with avocado and salmon were standout choices.
Our cocktails, featuring gin and fresh berries, were not only visually appealing but also incredibly tasty, and the price point at around 40 rand per cocktail made it even more worthwhile.
However, the irresistible food and drinks prompted us to order main courses. We all opted for the chicken and ham Alfredo with penne, which turned out to be a creamy and delectable delight, truly mouthwatering.
The ambience and venue at Grimaldis are perfect for unwinding, taking in the beautiful scenery of Durban's coastline, and enjoying excellent food and drinks with your favorite people. It's a delightful experience that combines great cuisine with a...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of attending a team social event at Grimaldi's DCC, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. We were seated towards the back of the restaurant, near the golf course exit, which offered a relaxed and pleasant ambiance with a beautiful view.
The food was outstanding, with both the set menu and the chef's special menu for the day offering a variety of tempting options. I opted for the rump steak, cooked medium to well, and it was absolutely perfect. The steak was incredibly tender, easy to cut, and packed with flavor. It was paired with a side of Italian spinach and butternut, topped off with a delicious padella sauce that complemented the dish wonderfully. The flavors worked so well together, and it’s definitely a firm favorite for me.
The staff at Grimaldi’s were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, able to guide us seamlessly through both the drinks and food menus. With such a large group, I was impressed by how efficiently they coordinated everything—our meals arrived at the same time, and everything was served hot and fresh.
Overall, it was a delightful experience—great food, excellent service, and a wonderful setting. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend Grimaldi’s DCC for both casual and...
Read moreMy wife and I felt like sushi for lunch and went to Grimaldi's. We had been previously but not for some time because we had not found previous experiences favorable but thought that we should give them another opportunity.
We had a hand roll and some bamboo rolls and salmon roses that were fairly good but we also each ordered a crab sushi salad.
The crab sushi salad appeared to be 90% avo with a fair amount of mayonnaise and absolutely minimal crab. Only small specks of "crab" were visible in the salad - I shall attach pictures.
We complained about this & they offered to rectify the problem and my wife accepted a side helping of crab stick and my "crab" salad went back and came back with a reasonable helping of crab.
At the end of the meal when the bill came we had been charged 135 Rand for each "crab sushi salad," which on the menu was listed at 80 Rand. (I shall attach pictures.)
When we complained the price was obviously reduced and there was an explanation that involved some type of computer or system error.
My feeling is that I would like for once in a while to go somewhere where the bill is correct or an error works in my favor. How can a computer generate an...
