Daytona Spur — Restaurant in Stamford Hill

My family and I visited the outlet on the evening of 06/01/24. We were seated on the last table next to the fountain entrance. I'm afraid our waiter - I believe called Mondli's behaviour was completely devoid of any professionalism.

Almost 20min after arriving our orders were still not taken. We had to raise our hands to get service as we were trying to decide whether to continue waiting or move to another establishment. When he eventually appeared to take the orders he just stood there with an attitude not even a greeting.

By some miracle the actual food order was prepared very quickly (which was great), however our food and drinks were served at the same time all dumped infront of the person seated at the end of the table before he walked off.

I realized that my order was wrong and had been served with chips & onion rings and not veggies as requested and when he brought the veggies, he just grabbed the plate to scoop out the onion rings and chips basket before dumping it back infront of me with a line to the effect that you can now have the veggies that you wanted.

Somewhere during the meal he came to check up on us and arrived at our table belting out the song Water by Tyla. It may also be okay with other customers to address them as 'Darlings' but we found that inappropriate.

I must honestly say that this is probably the second instance in my lifetime where I have crossed out the tip but our entire family found his...

I arrived around 13:00 and was promptly greeted by the hostess. After pushing a full trolley for three hours, I was quite exhausted and needed a rest. While I was busy on my phone, a friendly waiter handed me a menu. Unfortunately, due to the trolley, I couldn’t be seated inside, and it was very cold outside. I understand that trolleys aren’t suitable for indoor seating.

The floor manager was very attentive, checking on me several times during my lunch, which I appreciated. My waiter was exceptionally cheerful and always smiling, with an energetic vibe that made me want to stay longer.

For my meal, I ordered full chicken wings with Rockford sauce—my favorite—and some vegetables. My Coke was requested to accompany the meal, and everything was served promptly within a reasonable time. The wings exceeded my expectations in presentation, freshness, and taste—they were excellent. I was offered another drink, which I gladly accepted, and after that, I felt quite full.

Later, I decided to indulge in dessert and ordered the half waffle. Unfortunately, the waffle was overdone and a bit crispy, which was disappointing. My waiter was so attentive that I hesitated to raise the issue, but I suspect perhaps it was left in the machine a bit too long.

Overall, it was a good lunch experience, and I will definitely return, mainly for the friendly service...

I've been here twice. First time was really good. The second time was not the best. Our experience was made better by Sthabiso, he was helpful and friendly even though he wasn't our waiter. We got ice cream that was sour and that bummed us out because we were there for the dessert and not so much the food. The manager did check if the situation was resolved, we were given whipped cream and it just wasn't the same, but his promptness in checking in was great, we appreciated that. The rib burger was amazing it tasted really good, so did the fried chips which came with it, good preparation time, great presentation. The beef strips were dry, very underwhelming, they were really held together by the sauce they were put in, it tasted like they lightly fried the strips then tossed it into sauce, so there was a disconnect between the actual beef strip and the sauce. That's the one dish i dont really recommend. Our waitress disappeared often, and we had to call her so many times, she was more present for the patrons that sat along us she assisted us after we called her, but it definitely seemed like she was having a bad day, I won't mention her name, but I really hope that that particular waitress was more warm.
