Moses Mabhida Stadium is an iconic sports and entertainment venue situated in Durban, South Africa. Named after Moses Mabhida, a former General Secretary of the South African Communist Party, the stadium is not only a sporting arena but also a symbol of the city's vibrant culture and history.

One of the standout features of the stadium is its breathtaking arch, which soars above the structure and adds a distinctive touch to Durban's skyline. The arch isn't just a design element; it also serves as a platform for various activities. Visitors can take a SkyCar ride to the top of the arch for panoramic views of the city and the coastline, offering a unique perspective that blends sports, architecture, and tourism.

Originally built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the Moses Mabhida Stadium has a seating capacity of around 56,000 and has hosted a variety of sporting events, including soccer matches, rugby games, and more. Its adaptable design allows it to accommodate different types of events, making it a versatile and sought-after venue.

Apart from sports, the stadium has become a hub for entertainment and cultural events. Music concerts, festivals, and other live performances have graced its grounds, attracting both local residents and tourists alike.

For adrenaline enthusiasts, the stadium offers the Big Rush Big Swing, which is known as the world's tallest swing. It allows individuals to take a daring leap from the arch, experiencing an exhilarating freefall before swinging out over the stadium.

Moses Mabhida Stadium is not just a structure; it embodies Durban's spirit, offering a mix of sports, adventure, and entertainment against the backdrop of the city's stunning landscape. Whether you're a sports enthusiast, an adventure seeker, or someone looking to soak in the local culture, this stadium has something to offer...

Visited for the sky walk. Weather was overcast. I think that it is a bit overpriced. Guide was good ensuring that all safety measures were adhered to. U can do this walk at ur own pace but the weather didn't allow for us to do so. It is a radical steep incline, not for the unfit and faint hearted. It was a real work out. When we finally reached the top the views were breathtaking but due it it being overcast, not very photogenic opportunities. Felt very lightheaded at the top. If u thought going up was bad, coming down is not any easier due to the gradient. My legs were wobbling and felt like jelly at the end of the tour. Photo opportunities in the stadium were great. Really enjoyed this activity and will return for more. Great outdoor family activities. The toilets facilities however stunck to hell and back. It was overwhelmingly disgusting to walk past. I did not even want to venture in. With all the monies coming in from all the activities, I am sure that maintaining the stadium should not be an issue. This is how tourists judge us when they visit these iconic monuments. At least we can take some pride in maintaining it and...

Review: Moses Mabhida Stadium – A Stunning Landmark, But Currently Under Repairs Moses Mabhida Stadium is undeniably one of Durban’s most iconic landmarks, with its breathtaking architecture and panoramic views of the city. The surrounding area is vibrant, full of greenery, and offers a great atmosphere for visitors. However, if you're planning a visit anytime soon, be aware that the stadium is currently undergoing repairs. As seen in the images, scaffolding covers a significant portion of the structure, and access to the stadium itself appears to be restricted. It's a bit disappointing not being able to explore the interior or experience some of the attractions, but it’s still worth visiting for the views and photo opportunities from the outside. If you’re in Durban, it's still a must-see spot, but check ahead to see when it reopens fully!
