I have to say, from the other reviews I was expecting this restaurant to be of a slightly higher caliber.

While the service was impeccable (a birthday card for my wife was a very sweet touch), I found the ambiance a bit lacking and noisy.

The food was well, some great, some lacking and some really disappointing.

Oysters in my opinion were over-garnished, and while nice do leave you chewing on diced cucumber for a while.

The bread service was perfect, with snoek pate really shining.

For me the star of the show was the sashimi, delicate and tangy sauce played very well into the tuna. My wife's mac and cheese was also very good and warming.

I didn't care about my kingklip, the fish itself tasted burnt and the sauce was overpowering with too many flavours.

The burnt part was, unfortunately, also present in my wife's chicken, however overall the dish was well balanced and delicate.

Apple crumble dessert was delicious, albeit a bit heavy on the stomach. The latter might be attributed to more than generous portions, though, there was plenty of food for a fine dining establishment.

They do not offer wine pairing, however there is an adequate wine list with some of the offerings by carafe.

Overall worth a visit and I will do so again, perhaps after a seasonal menu change to check out more...

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Post and Pepper!!

Everything from the service (on all levels) was incredible, very attention to detail an immaculate - we really couldn't fault everything and all the staff, manager and owner Jess was very friendly. I inquired about some of the dishes ans ingrepe and Jess was very friendly and patient with all my questions.

The food was out of this world, the flavours were great and adventurous and unlike anything I have ever tasted before. They also accomodated me with gluten free bread with the snacks. The dinner 4 set meal was more than enough food and you will certainly not leave hungry...perhaps only wishing you had more space for a second round. The plates looked like works of art and 3D paintings. The crispy and sticky pork lollipops are delectable! We had the Beef Satay Taktaki and Carbonara pasta for starters, Karoo lamb shoulder for mains and both teh strawberry kisses and Chocolate & lavender, which was incredible.

The story of the business and the building is a perfect homeage to the beautiful old Post Office building and I loved how they incorporated this in the name, logo and branding.

I will definitely be back foe...

Quite possibly the best food experience I have had in South Africa, certainly in the past decade. Having frequently dined in many of best restaurants during my time in France, I do not say this lightly. My wife and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary and sat at the bar counter for the entire meal. The food was superb, refined, innovative and thoroughly satisfying. The setting was very comfortable and it was great to see their mixologist create an array of intriguing cocktails. We stuck with wine and I was delighted to discover a list that had a great and thoughtful selection that avoided many of the mainstream options. Very refreshing. Furthermore, for once, I have found a restaurant that does not charge ridiculous markups on wine and the prices were very reasonable. Finally, we really enjoyed the extremely professional and knowledgeable staff who created an atmosphere of respectful joviality. The fine attention to detail observed by the kitchen was a delight to witness and resembled a work of art in progress. Congratulations on such a holistic, olfactive...

Attention to detail makes the Post and Pepper dining experience effortless. It is based on a small plate sharing concept that celebrates South African flavours and textures. Six to seven plates, perfectly executed, blissful crafted cocktails (...that twist on an old fashioned) and a smooth front of house, made us incredibly satisfied diners. My personal favourite dishes were the roosterkoek and the tuna tartare. We could also not resist a second choux au craquelin. I felt the pan fried gnocchi was a bit lost among the other elements and I would have loved to finish everything on the dumpling plate. However, these are such minor details and I venture that the food and the service is better than the other, more expensive, wine farm kitchens. Chef was exceptionally accommodating in terms of dietary requirements and I appreciate that they took note of the special occasion. The atmosphere was vibrant, without feeling crowded or noisy. I will definitely be visiting again to order my current favorites, and to discover more.

A beautifully stylish restaurant with an open kitchen, where you can watch the kitchen team and the chef in action. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious – a refreshing change from what you’d expect at a restaurant of this caliber. The dishes are incredibly creative and diverse, ranging from hearty to light, and each plate is beautifully and thoughtfully presented. Vegetarians will be thrilled with a dedicated menu – truly fantastic! The wine list is equally impressive. We also loved the pacing between courses, which gave us time to enjoy our wine and have great conversations. The staff is warm, attentive, and thoroughly professional. We were absolutely blown away – this is easily one of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to, not just in South Africa but anywhere in the world. Thank you for an unforgettable evening. P.S. If this restaurant were in Switzerland, we’d be regulars without question. It’s also an excellent choice for corporate dinners or exclusive private events.
