Poke Bowl: Rainbow food.

Have you ever had food that feels like a rainbow with Unicorns are galloping in your hungry, empty stomach?

Well, get ready, because The Poké is about to do just that.

I was in town, frustrated from the morning chores and I was looking for something healthy yet comforting to sooth this rushed morning. First of all, the colour theme of The Poké is pink, which happens to be my favourite colour.

In Stellenbosch, they are situated in Plein Street and have tables outside for that European feel.

I asked the waiter, (who had a smile of an angel) to surprise me with their best poke bowl. The manager (can’t remember his name) gave her one look and it was as if they knew exactly what would change my life.

Context: I’m not a very big foody, I’m a mom of two so whatever is fast, easy and relatively healthy is good to go! Although I truly appreciate fine dine and eat almost everything.

Appearance: Bright colours of pickled beetroot, salmon sashimi, fresh cucumber, avocado, green peas, thinly sliced carrot that looks so appealing I would exchange my GHD for it.

Taste: Rainbow explosions in my month, everything is so fresh it feels like I’m on a yoga retreat meal. I could feel my cholesterol levels drop with every bite. I could not stop eating.. Good thing I didn’t have company, I just want to enjoy this. The rice, how do you get your rice to taste so fluffy?

Portion: Two could share a bowl, it is more than enough, and they are not shy to heap up the Sashimi.

Service: (In my opinion, the most important) Kind, inviting and precise.

I recently tried out The Poké Co. - Stellenbosch, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! The place offers a wide variety of poke bowl options that cater to different tastes and preferences.

The staff were amazing! They were super helpful, attentive, and very friendly. They greeted me with a warm welcome and took the time to explain the menu options, patiently answering any questions I had. Their excellent service enhanced the overall dining experience, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Kudos to the staff for their exceptional customer service!

As a big fan of this place...I'm always in awe of the big hearts, enthusiastic staff everything I come here. My friend got me a birthday voucher and from her...even the process of organizing it was done with kindness and great flexibility.
