Not a place to book for your birthday. Our table was booked well in advance and despite stating the occasion we were not looked after. Our waiter took ages to serve us and our drinks were continuously forgotten about - food took ages to come. We then had to leave without eating the cake as there was another reservation - no attempts were made to alternatively cater for us.

Hi there. Thank you for your response. The service was not up to par but we tipped the waiter well because it's his income. We did not book on Friday for 2pm on Saturday, we booked days before for 3pm on Saturday and members of the group were there at 3 to secure the table. There were multiple drink orders that were not responded to and only after asking again the table was served in due course. I have amended my review because we enjoyed the food and I have taken some time to retrospect. But the bottom line is that it was my birthday and my group did not feel like we were well looked after or that the occasion was considered by the waiter. He was completely dismissive, did not even introduce himself! They did not even serve us the cake!!! My brother had to go to the back and bring it and the waiter could not even light the candles for us. Plus there was no side plates, knives or anything to even cut the cake!!! I have reviewed many restaurants, both in my position as a journalist and on Google and I would like you to understand that this is coming from a place of real concern and I do not appreciate the way we were treated at such a top...

Initially we liked the spot, beautiful and cosy which was perfect for the cold evening and unfortunately that’s the only good thing I have to say about the place. The tacos we received were very stale, hot chocolate was cold and extremely watery and servers were on their phones not even checking in on us. After 30 minutes of receiving our food the waitress finally paid attention to us where I informed her that my hot chocolate was very cold and the tacos were stale and I requested that I have the hot chocolate warmed and I’d like nothing else from the kitchen to which she ignored and proceeded to bring us the tacos remade which I did say I was no longer interested in as time has gone by and the evening was done for us. Another lady came to give us our bill and we saw the tacos on the bill and we said we already asked for them not to make them (they were untouched by us) to which she responded they already opened a new packet for us (again, we didn’t ask for this) but eventually we agreed to take it off the bill. I also saw our waitress walking away angrily to the other staff members huffing and puffing as if we did something wrong . Staff really needs to be trained better. 2/10...

Food is over priced starters of calamari is just under R70 and literally could fit in my hand with a garnish of picked red cabbage and a side of dipping sauce. The other meals at our table where in region of R100 per person excluding drinks for a burger or sliders. i also called for a booking a week prior and i was told to email it through which i did but was never confirmed so we just went through the monday for lunch the food took some time to arrive and their menu categorically does not state quantities for example how much or how many chilli poppers do you get or the weight etc. Also if you want your burgers well done you must say so or you will get some pink beef.Lastly a credit would be that the waiter was friendly, this is based on my recent visit with 5 others people.. i dont think i will go there again unless i absolutely have to and would rather spend my time and money across the road at Ricks or go to steers. However i can state that this type of food is trending in cape town like craft burgers tappas and so forth... so when in gardens your choice options are limited to pizza, tappas, light meals and burgers or fast food. And tgats my review thanks...
