I recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming Korean family restaurant called Sulgodabg, and the overall experience left me thoroughly impressed.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is delightful, creating a warm and inviting environment that immediately makes you feel at home. The interior is thoughtfully designed, combining traditional elements with a modern touch. The spacious layout ensures that each table enjoys a comfortable level of privacy, making it an ideal spot for both intimate meals and larger gatherings.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food. The menu boasts a delightful array of Korean dishes, each prepared with care and authenticity. Every dish is a testament to the chef's culinary expertise. The flavors are rich and nuanced, capturing the essence of Korean cuisine.

One standout aspect is the spacious dining area, allowing patrons to enjoy their meals without feeling cramped. Whether you're there for a family dinner, a casual lunch, or a celebratory gathering, the layout ensures that you can savor your meal in a relaxed and comfortable setting.

In conclusion, Sulgodang perfectly combines a welcoming atmosphere, delicious cuisine, and a spacious layout. It's an excellent choice for those seeking an authentic Korean dining experience with a touch of warmth and style. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delightful...

The food was delicious but not without flaws.

First of all, service was amazing!! The best and friendliest service by far during my trip here in Korea.

The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor and the menu caters to both vegans and non vegans. The server was very kind and confirmed our dietary needs and restrictions for each dish.

We ordered the noodle that resembled thin soba and the soy paste stew with beef.

The noodles were amazing. The texture was al dente and had the perfect bite. It was seasoned just right too.

The soy paste stew with beef was also very flavorful and tasted very tomatoey. But I did feel it lacked substance. There were only 4 tofu cubes in the stew and not much vegetables.

Both dishes could have benefitted with bigger portions because the main dishes do not fill you up at all.

The meal also comes with 6 bonchons or side dishes that you can refill for free. These are the dishes that will fill you up.

The atmosphere was comfortable. The only downside was the bathroom which was on the dirty side.

I would recommend this restaurant just for the amazing service alone..but good thing the food was...

When you are craving authentic tasty Korean food, come here! Everything was so delicious and the staff were so kind, very foreigner friendly. I had the stir fried pork(duruchigi), soybean paste stew(doenjang jjigae) and spicy japchae. The stir fried pork packs a lot of flavor, not overly salty and is balanced with mushrooms and onions. They gave us plenty of meat and weren’t stingy at all. The soybean paste stew tasted so fresh, and it doesn’t taste store bought. This was my first time trying spicy japchae, usually I’ve been impartial about japchae, but their spicy japchae was amazing and I finally understood why it’s well loved. Lastly, they gave us soooo many side dishes I was so surprised! And they were all delicious. I’m happy that not only did I get to eat at a restaurant that cares for the quality of its main dishes, but they also care about the quality of their side dishes as well. I will definitely bring my friends here and recommend anyone who is looking for a filling and tasty meal to come here. FYI this isn’t sponsored, I just had an amazing meal after so many bad ones during my trip in Korea, and it made my day...

Despite being hidden on the second floor with an unassuming entryway, Sulgodang was already packed when I arrived just before noon. I soon discovered that its popularity was well deserved. I was immediately impressed by their fully vegan menu written in both Hangul and English. Though meat eaters can rest assured that their cravings are also well catered for. I ordered the tofu steak which came with two large pan-fried pieces of tofu along with a medley of side dishes, all entirely vegan. This meal could satisfy two or one very hungry person, all for the incredible price of 14 000 won (as of December 2024). No complaints about the service, good or atmosphere: of you're a kpop fan, you'll be satisfied with the playlist of popular hits interspersed with slower ballads. The staff were attentive and were able to communicate in English well. Definitely the best meal I've had in Korea this far (on both this and my first trip in 2018). Mark Sulgodang on your maps because it is not a restaurant to be missed.
