Mipo-jib Haeundae head store — Restaurant in Busan

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this restaurant. If I could rate it 0, I absolutely would. Here’s why:

Biased Service: The waitress/owner handed us a Chinese-only menu based solely on our appearance, assuming we could understand it without asking. Fortunately, we could, but the menu was incomplete compared to the Korean version.

Unprofessional Behavior: One of the waitresses attempted to move us to a different table while we were still eating, without offering any explanation. When we asked, she told us she needed the table for a group of six Korean guests. We were willing to switch tables, but it’s frustrating when no one communicates the situation politely or asks for our consent first.

Lack of Basic Service: We ordered the recommended set, but there were no instructions on how to enjoy it. After asking, we were told there were instructions available in multiple languages. Why weren’t these provided upfront? It felt like they assumed we already knew.

As for the food, it was just okay. If you enjoy raw seafood, you might tolerate it, but given the poor service and lack of care in food handling, I wouldn't...

We arrived at about 12:30 on Wednesday and there was already a line in front of the store. They have menus outside with tickets in different languages, and you can fill in what you want to order . After you are done, just go inside and change your paper for a number. We had number 30, and they told us it was an approximate of 30 min, so we walked up the road to take pictures of the cherry blossoms tree that were nearby. When the time was up, we were seated, and we were trying to add to our order, but the waitress kindly told us it was too much food for just 2 ppl, so we followed her advice and kept the original order which was their mixed seafood platter for 2 and just added their pomegranate wine. The food was delicious, but we could have forgone the wine since it was nothing special and it did not add to the experience. The sashimi was so fresh and sweet, the octopus and abalone were really tender, and the crab mixed in the rice was really good. “소문만 무성한, 다시는 가고 싶지 않은 맛집”

부산 가족여행 중 어른 6명, 미취학 아동 2명과 함께 ‘유명 맛집’이라 하여 일부러 시간을 내어 방문했습니다. 하지만 결과적으로는 ‘왜 이렇게 유명한지 의문이 드는’ 경험만 하고 나왔습니다.

무표정, 무인사, 무성의한 안내 입장부터 기분이 상했습니다. 사장인지 지배인인지 모를 분이 손님이 들어와도 눈길 한 번, 인사 한 마디 없이 무표정으로 자리만 안내. 저희뿐 아니라 다른 테이블 손님들도 같은 응대를 받는 걸 보니, 아예 친절이란 개념이 없는 듯합니다.

높은 가격 대비 최악의 서비스 가격대가 꽤 있는 집이라 서비스라도 기본 이상은 할 줄 알았습니다. 그러나 음식은 늦게 나오고, 주문에 대한 응대도 딱딱하고 불친절. 화장실은 독채 건물임에도 불구하고 냄새 나고, 청소가 제대로 되고 있는지조차 의문스러웠습니다. 비위 약한 사람은 화장실 갔다가 입맛까지 사라질 수준입니다.

위생 상태, 실망 그 자체 주방이 훤히 보이는 구조였는데, 뒷편에 음식물 쓰레기가 산더미처럼 쌓여 있는 모습이 슬쩍 보였습니다. 고객 입장에서 식사하면서 저런 장면을 본다는 건 매우 불쾌하고 불안한 일입니다. 음식 나올 때부터 위생이 신경 쓰여 젓가락이 쉽게 가지 않더군요.

‘맛’도 기대 이하 결정적으로, 이렇게 많은 걸 감수하고 먹을 만큼 맛이 있는지도 모르겠습니다. 구성도 평범했고, 간도 특별하지 않았습니다. 가족 모두가 “그냥 먹을만하다”는 반응이 전부였네요. 이런 맛에 이런 가격이면, 솔직히 ‘재방문 의사 없음’입니다.

‘유명하다’, ‘방송에 나왔다’는 이유로 이름값은 하는지 모르겠지만, 정작 기본이 너무 부족한 곳입니다. 맛, 서비스, 위생—셋 다 미달입니다. 여행 중 소중한 한 끼를 낭비하고 싶지 않다면 비추드립니다.

“All Hype, No Substance – Never Going Back”

Visited this place during a family trip to Busan with 6 adults and 2 young children, drawn by its reputation as a “famous restaurant.” Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of those experiences where you seriously question the hype.

Cold Welcome and Unfriendly Staff From the moment we entered, the atmosphere felt off. The owner or manager gave no greeting, no eye contact—just a blank face and a silent gesture toward our table. It wasn’t just us; we noticed the same behavior toward other customers as well. Hospitality seems to be nonexistent here.

Terrible Service for a High Price With the steep prices, we expected at least decent service. Instead, the food took forever to come out, and the staff were curt and indifferent. The restroom, despite being in a separate building, smelled terrible and was dirty. If you’re sensitive, just walking into the restroom might ruin your appetite.

Questionable Hygiene The kitchen is partly visible from the dining area, and we saw heaps of food waste piled up behind the prep area. It was unpleasant and made us question the cleanliness of the place. From that point on, we couldn't eat comfortably.

Mediocre Food at Best Worst of all, the food just wasn’t good enough to justify the price. The flavors were bland, the presentation was average, and overall it felt like any other ordinary meal. Every adult in our group agreed: “Just okay.” Definitely not worth a second visit.
