Taesan Mandu — Restaurant in Daegu

If you want some good and simple Mandu (Korean dumplings) this is a good option. I'm not a fan of their style of cooking where all the dumplings are stuck together. But it's their style and I won't knock it. Everything is well cooked and well seasoned. Service is simple and fast. The interior is likewise plain but clean. The prices are pretty good too. I recommend the fried dumplings with the spicy salad (bibim Mandu 비빔만두) or the fried dumplings with an extra plate of cold spicy noodles (jolmyeon 졸면). It gets busy at peak hours but the wait isn't long because service is quick and most people are coming for a quick bite...

대구 최초의 만두 전문점으로 알려져 있으며, 2대째 대를 이어 장사를 하고 있다.

대구광역시 중구 달구벌대로 2109-32에 위치한 태산만두는 1972년 개업한 50년이 넘는 노포 만두집이다. 중국식 만두를 판매하고 있으며 대표 메뉴는 비빔꾼만두와 탕수만두이다. 전통식 중국만두라고 했으나 중국본토의 향신료는 없으며 필자가 보기엔 한국식 맛이다. 메뉴의 가격은 2025년 5월 기준이다.

태산만두 위치는 번화가 중심에 있어 주차장 찾기가 쉽지않고 주차장에 주차하고 조금 걸어오셔야 하는 위치이다. 필자가 방문했을 때 약간의 웨이팅이 있었으며 매장 취식만큼 주문 배달이 많은지 배달 라이더 분들이 계속 방문했다.

인기 메뉴인 비빔꾼만두는 튀김만두에 양배추를 같이 제공하고 탕수만두는 주먹 만두 형태에 탕수 소스(케첩베이스)를 넣어 준다. 중국식 만두는 만두 피가 약간 두꺼운 형태이다.

만두는 꽤나 큰 편이며 2025년 5월 기준 가격이 9,000원 정도로 꽤나 저렴한 편이다. 다만 만두 자체로는 맛이 괜찮은 편이나 만두 속의 고기를 믹서기로 갈아넣고 재료를 뭉쳐서 고기의 식감이 별로 없었다.
