When travelling in a foreign city, I cannot miss to visit a speakeasy bar for some nice cocktails and to meet new people. So on the eve of my birthday, I decided to find this literal underground bar in Cheongdam called "Alice." It's described as the best in Seoul and whole of South Korea, along with its talented bartenders. I checked to see, and I guess it must be true... Props to the very dark yet appropos jazzy ambiance! The furnitures were super comfy and the bathroom is just fab! The staff were very mindful and helpful, and I think it's the best point of this place. The creative "Alice in Wonderland" concept is perfectly matched with equally bizzare curated drinks! I tried their signature gin cocktail (2nd photo) and had my regular dose of bespoke gin tonic. Manse Park, the lead bartender, was kind and fluent enough to converse with me (in English) and give me a birthday shot (which just killed me haha). I came to Alice Cheongdam in February on vacation from Canada and it was the best experience I had in all of Seoul. The drinks were absolutely spectacular, so much complexity of flavours and each drink had a passionate story behind them. My husband and I were amazed at the creativity and passion behind Mason and Leo's work. The bar itself is spacious, well decorated and very unique. As part of Asia's top 50 bars, it did not disappoint one bit. The staff are also 💯 spectacular, amazing, and kind! They gave us a list of other great bars to try around the city. They love interacting and communicating with their customers and even learned English to help give the best experience. Talk about committed. We would highly recommend! I would book another trip to Seoul from Canada just to come back here.
