Cheong Su Dang — Restaurant in Seoul

TLDR: I'd recommend the cafe to experience the Ambiente with a friend or S/O when the food itself isn't the main focus of the occasion.

Cheong Su Dang is an amazing experience to try at least once for the environment and setup; mostly due to its very calm and unique ambiance. The little garden outside isn't just pretty in warm months as seen in other reviews; it actually looks equally pretty in winter with its frozen stream of water.

Sititng indoors on the base floor requires taking off your shoes and sitting on the ground, but one added benefit is that each place comes with a heating mattress which helps to make the cold winter comfortable.

The service at this restaurant is friendly and trying to help but does not speak much English (something to be aware of)

Cheong Su Dang is a charming café set in a beautiful hanok environment surrounded by lush greenery, offering a peaceful and authentic Korean atmosphere. The seating options include both regular chairs and traditional tatami-style seating, catering to different preferences.

We tried the Matcha Promage Cake (15,000 won), which looked visually appealing and closely resembled a traditional promage cake, but it was a bit too sweet for our taste.

For drinks, the Stone Drip Egg Coffee (7,800 won) and Hand Drip Black Tea (7,500 won) were both well-prepared and performed as expected, providing a satisfying beverage experience.

This place was indeed beautiful. However, extremely overpriced. I got a matcha latte and a berry pavlov and it came out to ~18 USD which is INSANE to me

Berry Pavlov was delicious but not exceptional and the matcha latte was good but overly sweet. It’s also a bit awkward to order- you have to find a seat before you order else they won’t let you. But there’s also no queue or line to stand in, you kinda just have to awkwardly hover/waltz around until people leave.
