Updated review: Unfortunately after getting home from my trip to Seoul I am going to have to edit my review- I did honestly have a mixed experience at this location with my hair. When I came in for my appointment, I was first kindly greeted by my stylist and her assistant, where we discussed what I wanted to do for my hair. I first brought up just touching up my roots (I regularly get my hair dyed a shade or two darker than my dark brown hair in America), getting a hair cut, and then getting the half scalp spa treatment. I explained that I usually get the 1-2 shade darker root touchup, and that I usually ask for a red undertone. My stylist and I agreed on a shade for the root touchup, but then she recommended I do an all over color with the shade she recommended, and I agreed to it. They also notified me that my length would be a 60,000 won uncharge for color, bringing the entire color cost to 156,000 won, or about $107 USD. The English conversation wasn't perfect and there may have been some misunderstandings, but I thought the overall color would make my hair the same color while covering my natural root growth. I also agreed to a 96,000 won half purehead spa treatment. Then, my stylist and her assistant started applying what I now think was a lightener onto all of my hair color (not including my roots), and I wasn't super sure what was going on since no one discussed with me what they were doing but I was too shy to ask. After this, it became clear that the dark brown color they were trying to lift (which I did not ask for, as mentioned I really only wanted my roots matched and then agreed to color all over with a dark brown with red undertones) was not actually lifting at all, and my stylist and her assistant had a worried discussion in Korean above my head before discussing that if I wanted the color, they would just have to bleach my hair or just deal with unevenness. I was pretty confused at this point as I didn't want my old color removed at all and definitely did not want bleach on my hair, which I expressed to the stylists. They then just went ahead and put the color all over my hair and then another stylist came and put a menu in front of me, recommending me to add another treatment to improve my "frizzy, thinning and damaged hair" in the form of a keratin (176,000 won) or a Haoniko treatment (96,000 won). I was kind of overwhelmed at this point, and felt very pressured to add on a service. However, the assistant said that the Haoniko treatment would be good because it would reduce and eliminate the frizziness and dryness in my hair for up to 1.5 months, so I agreed to it. After about 30 minutes with color in my hair, they took me to shampoo it out, and then proceeded with the scalp and Haoniko treatment. The Haoniko treatment immediately made me skeptical because it just seemed like a hair oil or something that was distributed throughout my hair, but I did enjoy the scalp treatment. My hair was then rinsed and and cut and styled, and I was left with unevenly colored hair, but at least my cut looked really nice. I was also pressured to leave my review right then with the assistant standing behind me watching me put 5 stars.
Long story short, after getting home after a 20 hour travel day and washing my hair, my hair is just as frizzy as it was before (even after a blow dry and styling) and my hair is several different colors throughout, which numerous other people have pointed out to me. I do really think the cut is great and the half scalp treatment seemed to have made a little difference in reducing signs of dry scalp, so I am not complaining about those. However, I would like to get a refund for the Haoniko treatment I paid for along with my color service because my hair genuinely does not look right or as promised. I now need to go pay more money to get my hair fixed at a salon here which is disappointing. I would be willing to delete this part of the review if VOG agreed to a partial refund for the color and...
Read moreI had an amazing experience getting my hair dyed at Vogue Hair! Although I didn’t have Naver account, I could still call them up and ask for their availability, and they were able to accommodate me that very same day. As someone who is very cautious and unsure when it comes to hairstyling, the consulting period was really reassuring. my stylist Otto was incredibly patient even though it was quite late in the day, and accommodated and answered all the questions I had. Together we decided on the best treat for the look I wanted. I think this was truly valuable, it felt like she was on my team, and wanted the best for me by giving me a thorough consultation of what colour would suit me and what style. This level of dedication and commitment is really inspiring. Additionally, they have such an incredible range and an incredible team of stylists, so it was really worthwhile going online and looking over the wide scope of stylists and their impressive portfolios. I ended up having looked over all the portfolios and choosing the styles that most resembled what I wanted! I even got a hair treatment alongside the style and the colouring! In the consultation period, they give advice and recommendations on the best combinations of treatment and styling, which is really helpful. As someone, who was concerned about getting my hair damaged they helped me to choose a treatment that would help with any damages that might come from colouring. Honestly, the treatment was so relaxing I even fell asleep for a little bit. Overall I was so satisfied with my look! I felt rejuvenated, and had a new energy and excitement! Honestly, came out of there giggling feeling like a Kpop Idol! The colour, which I chose with Otto has really really complimented me, and I would definitely recommend visiting Vogue Hair, if you’re in Seoul, and are wanting to get your hair styled! Thank you so so much!...
Read more🌟 5-Star Review for VOG Hair Hongdae 🌟 I can confidently say this was one of the best hair care experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, the staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly focused on delivering true customer satisfaction—not just a quick cut. My sister & I, and cousin were immediately welcomed with complimentary drinks and snacks.
We booked the Korean 16-step scalp and full hair care package, and it was worth every second. The treatment was incredibly thorough and relaxing—from deep scalp exfoliation to customized steaming and nourishment. It felt like a total reset for my scalp health. If you’ve been dealing with sebum buildup, dryness, or just want a true rejuvenation experience, this is a must-try.
I also got a precision haircut and keratin treatment designed to strengthen and rebuild my hair follicles & roots. The difference was immediate—my hair felt smoother, stronger, and lighter, without losing any of its natural texture.
A huge shoutout to (sexy & pretty) Soyun, who did an amazing job with my cut & scalp treatment and explained every step of the keratin treatment with patience and care. My sister said - “ Talent” describes her touch. She will turn your basic hair cut to a “sexy style” and say with a “Let’s get it” with a CAN Do attitude. 🫶
And special thanks to (handsome & fun) Yoonwoo, other hair dresser. These two clearly love what they do—and it shows.
If you’re looking for more than just a haircut, and want a full experience tailored to your scalp and hair health, VOG Hair Hongdae is the place. I left feeling refreshed, confident, and genuinely cared for. #GOODFIND
