Jangsarang — Restaurant in Seoul

Most of these positive reviews are fake for sure. As a Korean speaking, the food was anything but authentic or traditional. The pictures made the food look appetizing but it was far from it. The reviewer who said they serve spoiled food was 100% right. They do. The rice wasn’t fully cooked, the soup tasted like it had gone bad for days, and the meat and banchan was below average. The old ladies put that much msg, but heck they can’t even cook better than an 8 year old.

The place was empty but they took forever to just serve banchan which is equivalent to appetizers in the US. Adding on to this, there were barely any customers there on a Friday night, that’s a high tell of a restaurant with no regulars.

The portion sizes were small and the staff were cold and rude. Also how do you not even serve rice with the soup? They overcharge for tasteless small sized dishes.

Do not eat here unless you want trash food, trash service and trash experience. Locals already know to stay far away from here, tourists be smart and avoid this place...

First time back in almost 20 years.

Nothing has changed, including the entrance and interior.

Was happy to be back, brought back lots of memories, until the food came out.

I had the set menu - with the gondurae bop pot. However, the gondurae bop was spoiled. I told the owner who insisted it wasn't spoiled. Then she tasted it and offered to make a new pot but insisted it wasn't spoiled. IT WAS SPOILED. THE GONDURAE HAD A SOUR SPOILED TASTE.

Not going back. Things like this can happen, but...

This place is traditional Korean food! I recommend going if you can read Korean or go with a korean 😊 The food was delicious but the service was lacking because they had many online delivery orders to make. I don't think I'll go back but it was a lovely experience going underground and the restaurant...
