Perlen — Restaurant in Seoul

Korea inspired dessert omakase 🌸 . . Korea to the table. I recently tried the new dessert course at Perlen in the heart of Yeonnam, and it was a delightful experience! This time, the Korean concept stood out, adding a unique touch to the course.

I highly recommend it to visitors curious about Korean herbs and ingredients (don’t miss out the perilla jelly at the end!) Among the courses, the Hanbok dessert particularly caught my attention. Its delightful appearance matched its taste, especially with the pistachio adding a lovely nutty flavour. It’s hard to pick a favourite from the selection, they were all so good! 🩷

I chanced upon a video about Perlen’s dessert pairing course on Instagram and decided that I’ve to include it in our itinerary.

Made a reservation on catchable for Monday afternoon without realizing that it’s their off day. BUT, they were nice enough to just open the space to host the two of us.

The desserts really live up to the theme of the course “Korea to the table” where local ingredients are utilized and integrated into light, refreshing desserts. Really enjoyed the coffee and the traditional drinks too!

We unintentionally became the last two customers to try this menu as they are switching to a new menu tomorrow - highly recommend this place to tourists who wish to explore the taste of Korea under a nice atmosphere, environment...

I wanted to make a reservation for the weekend, and I finally got to go after successfully making a reservation. The most surprising part was the detailed plating of the desserts, the barista's expertise, and the high quality of service.

Especially, the Dutch coffee aged in an oak barrel was truly delicious. It was the first cafe I've encountered that I want to revisit, thanks to the subtle flavors and the harmony of taste and aroma pairing.
