Hongdae shopping street has very lively atmosphere. I visited there at the weekend. It was crowded, filled with both Koreans and foreigners. You can do many things there, shopping, strolling, trying some food, or even watching performances as there are a lot of street musicians and dancers there. For me, it is one of the best places for shopping and eating. There are many shops and restaurants which are greatly organized. The shopping area and food area are clearly divided. The products are varied and not too expensive. I and my family bought a lot of clothes, cosmetics, and souvenirs from there. For the food, not only restaurants provide good dishes and dessert, street food does the same. I ate a lot that day. While I walked around, there were always some food in my hand. There are many entertainment options to try too. I had much fun in a game center, but I didn’t have time to try other stuff. If you have opportunity to visit Seoul, I highly recommend to once get to Hongdae. It is very convenient traveling there as this place is very near to a subway station. I am planning to revisit the area as soon as...

Read moreHongdae street is very long with different vibes during the day and at night. You’ll need to spend a couple hours exploring the shops and alleyways as there are some nice hidden gems around the place. There are many trendy clothing stores there, mainly targeting a female audience. There are large brand stores, but mostly small to mid-sized boutiques. Most of the stores sell similar Korean-style clothes, but you can find some hidden gems within (especially in the side streets).
It’s great for affordable shopping and for food & beverage. For the atmosphere, I would recommend visiting on the weekend. For a better shopping experience, I would recommend coming on a weekday.
