Wang Thai — Restaurant in Seoul

UPDATE: Raising to 5-stars. Went back here and had absolutely nothing to give constructive feedback on. The spicy Vermicelli salad we had was amazing. Also had chicken wings that really didn’t need the sweet and sour sauce offered with it. We also had the crab fried rice, which was made with real crabs and tasted absolutely delicious and crabby. Their spicy red curry with shrimp was rich in flavor and the shrimps were cooked just right. Service, as always, was excellent. They accommodated our requests very professionally and were very attentive. Great Thai atmosphere. This place was also packed on a Sunday night. Be sure to make a reservation prior to arriving. ———— Excellent service and tasty Thai food. The Pad Thai was especially on point. Got the shrimp version, which also surprisingly came with tofu. Would have given a 5-star rating if not for the overcooked chicken in our green curry. If you don't like spicy food, be sure to let them know, but the default isn't overbearing. Wow... What a disappointment. As we noticed some hype in social media of this establishment, we decided to try and ended up leaving after eating bare minimum. All dishes we ordered were extremely salty and we weren't able to taste actual food itself. The Som Tom, which is a Thai papaya salad, it did not taste as if it was made of papaya. When I inquired the owner if this dish even had any papaya in it, she ignored my question. There are many other Thai restaurants in Itaewon. Great place. Amazing desserts. Get the banana one and the mango one. Take the sticky rice (from the mango dish) and eat it with the coconut milk (from the banana dish).. believe me... It's heaven -We heard very positive reports about this restaurant and decided to go for dinner .
