Ichiban Teppanyaki — Restaurant in Adeje

We visited ichiban for the teppanyaki menu (and chose their ichiban option due to it including lobster). The food was very good overall and the teppanyaki experience a lot of fun. We were both pretty surprised that the place was pretty much empty though, although this may be due to it having been Sunday night (adeje seems a bit dead on Sunday evenings). We were a bit suspicious about the restaurant only having 25ish reviews and that they were all 5-star but couldn’t really fault the place. We have been staying at a nearby hotel and looking for new places to eat outside the resort - in the last 5 days we have been twice to Ichiban, and both times the food was fantastic, the staff super friendly and it was generally a great experience. The menu covers Chinese and Japanese food, the first time we had a more Chinese meal which was delicious and fresh - duck pancakes and prawns with Chinese vegetables. The second time we ordered maki rolls, sashimi, freshly cooked gyoza and egg fried rice - all delicious - particularly the crispy salt and pepper prawns which we ordered twice! We really enjoyed our time at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was nice as well. However, there was one small issue I’d like to mention: we had to wait quite a long time for our order. The tables around us received their food much earlier, while we had to wait nearly 20 minutes before ours finally arrived. (I understand this might have been because we ordered sushi rather than regular dishes.)

Overall, it’s a great restaurant, and I’d definitely recommend it to everyone.

One more little thing, just for me personally—I’d love to see Philadelphia sushi...
