I had the unfortunate experience of dining at this establishment, and it was nothing short of a culinary catastrophe. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat – and by "treat," I mean a descent into frozen food hell.
The menu read like a tantalizing symphony of flavors, but the reality was a discordant cacophony of mediocrity. I ordered the steak and Milanese chicken, hoping for a sizzling, mouthwatering experience. Instead, what arrived on my plate can only be described as a culinary crime. The steak had all the tenderness of a shoe sole, and the Milanese chicken seemed like a reheat from last week's leftovers. Both dishes tasted as though they'd been stored in a cryogenic chamber, with flavors as frosty as the Arctic.
To add insult to injury, I was seated on a plastic chair that felt like it had been salvaged from a discount warehouse. It wobbled precariously, making me question the stability of the entire dining experience. As I reached for the mismatched cutlery, I couldn't help but wonder if the utensils had been gathered from a lost and found box.
The side offering was equally pitiful, consisting of two rolls that were more akin to miniature boulders than bread. The so-called "5 Euro bread basket" felt like a cruel joke, as if they'd gone out of their way to overcharge for the privilege of consuming cardboard-like carbohydrates.
The only thing that arrived promptly was my bill, a cruel reminder that I had paid for this culinary disaster. If you enjoy the sensation of your taste buds going into hibernation, your wallet taking a hit, and the added thrill of precarious seating and mismatched cutlery, this restaurant is the place for you. Otherwise, I suggest you run far, far away in search of an actual dining experience that won't leave you questioning the very essence of food and the stability of your chair...
Read moreWe had a very poor experience with this restaurant today regarding service and price. We were 22 people in a table, at the beginning everything was nice and lovely. I was going to order the lobster salad but the waiter warns me that this plate has really tiny and only few pieces of lobster but its fresh. I thanked him and ask for 5 more minutes to let me rethink. After he takes my partner order in less than 30 seconds, he asks me again. I asked him one more minute and he starts giving out to me saying he needed to know immediately because he can't hold an entire table because just one order. I ended up asking for the Sea food pasta which was nice but the sauce tasted like a premade one, the ones you can buy in a tin, didn't worth 23 euro at all. Lots of people in the table asked for steake, one person asked for medium the rest all asked for rare. At the moment they bring the plates turns out that they only did one rare and the rest were medium and gave the rare one to the person who asked for medium. People saw and heard the waiter asking this person if he ordered the medium TWICE and he still gave him the rare one. When all the mediums arrived non of the people was having them because they expected the rare ones. Turns out that the waiter in charge starts shouting, yes, SHOUTING at us asking who ordered the mediums and then blaming us for the whole confusion and blaming the person who got the rare one. My partner got his steak way after the rest of us and the taste was fine, but did not worth 25 euro. Some people weren't even finished and they were already clearing the table. The treat we got there definitely putted down everyone's mood. Does not worth the money and definitely the only good thing its...
Read moreCame here for lunch with my coeliac partner as we were on Playa del Duque all day. The service was lovely, this was the first place we ate in Tenerife and we were decently happy with things.
The bustling atmosphere, lovely seating and sea view really made it for us - go to the top of the hill, not the bottom bit at beach level. The jamon is amazing, melt in the mouth and cut to thinness perfection. The canarian potatoes are also great and come with a lovely Mojo sauce, which I loved here and wasn’t able to find a comparable alternative in flavour and texture anywhere except Marino not too far away. The creme Catalan was great as well.
In terms of the mains, we got everything that would be gluten free by default: grilled tiger prawns, grilled veg and some side salad. The prawns were €30 but there were only 4 butterflied and grilled which was a shame. They were also severely overcooked and really rubbery - I am no professional chef, but honestly I find it hard to imagine how one could make them so overdone. The veg were nice. The salad was mediocre, the tomatoes were not very ripe.
I think this is overpriced for what it is, but can imagine other dishes like the paella or something that’s harder to overcook would be good. Also the atmosphere is REALLY lovely, and the jamon as well as the Mojo sauce are worth coming here for. We plan to come back for lunch and have just those, and if you want well cooked sea food, I would send you to Marino in Plaza del Duque - they have a lunch and dinner service and perfectly cooked food at a similar if not lesser price point (but slightly more fine dining so you may want to be dressed and not...
