Mascalzone Pizza&More — Restaurant in Alcúdia

During our holiday we visited a number of restaurants in this area. Mascalzone is one of the more aesthetically appealing restaurants which was a large part of why we decided to give it a go.

Whilst the food was fine (but not amazing) the service left a lot to be desired. On arrival nobody looked interested in directing us to a table - eventually we were waved vaguely in the direction of a lounge style area. There are no menus - everything is done via a QR code. When you’re out for a family dinner with teens you generally want to get them off their phones yet here we had to make them use them!

This method of presenting a menu only really works if you can also order via the QR code in my opinion. A point proved when the waiter and my husband had to both try and read the tiny menu off of one of our phones to confirm the order had been taken correctly!

For some reason, one of our daughters’ main meals arrived with the starter (this was not requested as she’s a teen not a youngster who can’t wait!). As she was still eating her starter at this point they took the main away but clearly just put it in the oven or under a heat lamp as it was dried up and burnt when it was brought back out.

On the upside, there was a DJ playing and she was fab!

Overall, the food was average - the starters were a highlight- and the service left a lot...

Restaurant arbeitet mit dem nebenan liegenden Hotel "Innside Melia" zusammen. Als Hotelgast kann man hier seine Rechnung auf das Zimmer schreiben lassen. Das ist durchaus positiv.

Einige schreiben hier sinngemäß, das Macalzone sei das Beste Restaurant in dem sie je gegessen hätten. Ich frage mich, wo diese Leute normalerweise Essen gehen? Im Dönerladen? Beim Curry-Fritz?

Jedenfalls ist das Macalzone in meiner Wahrnehmung weder ein super exklusives Restaurant, noch ist es eine Imbissbude. Als Gast bekommt man hier solide und angemessene Speisen ohne großen Schnickschnack. Da wir nur Pizza gegessen hatten, kann ich auch nur dieses Essen bewerten. Für uns war es nichts berauschendes. Man bekommt hier keinen food porn oder eine high class Geschmacksexplosion, sondern eine einfache und grundsolide Pizza die satt macht. Der Preis liegt zwischen 11€-12,50€. Das empfanden wir, für das was wir bekamen, letztlich zu hoch.

Das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm und lädt in der Tat zum verweilen ein. Wenn ich richtig informiert bin, gibt es immer Dienstags und Samstags (vielleicht auch an mehr Tagen) Live Musik. Meist ab 21h! Das hat uns sehr gut gefallen und würden wir definitiv empfehlen.

Ich habe zudem einen Lieblingscocktail Namens "Mascalzone Caipi" entdeckt. Ein wirklich tolles und stimmiges alkoholisches Getränk, dass ich jedem wärmstens empfehlen kann! Der Preis ist mit 10€ absolut fair!

Wir entscheiden uns für den Mittelweg und damit eine 3 Sterne Bewertung, weil wir noch Luft nach oben sehen.

Das Mascalzone ist nicht schlecht, der Service ist überwiegend gut und zügig. Die Preise beim Essen würden wir als zu hoch bewerten, das Essen (Pizza) selbst, als durchschnittlich. Beim Alkohol hingegen finden wir den Preis angemessen und geschmacklich sehr ansprechend. Die Lage des Restaurants ist gut, das Ambiente sehr einladend und stilvoll. Man kann hier definitiv einen angenehmen und chilligen Abend verbringen. Ich würde aber vorab essen und dafür den Abend mit leckeren Cocktails und Live Musik im Mascalzone ausklingen lassen. Wer Hunger bekommt, wird fündig, sollte aber nicht zu...

Lovely place, really nice decor and relaxing atmosphere upon entering. Staff were really friendly, welcoming and attentive, at the onset and throughout, the waiter stopped to have a chat with me about the "sobrasada" a locally sourced and otiginated sausage sort of similar to chorizo, which was gorgeous on my pizza. The food was delicious, a really satisfying meal with a slightly different menu to the usual places. This has been our favourite place to eat here so far and would love to...
