Wow! We had the best experience. From food to drink to service to the details. What was good? Atmosfear: First there is not Many tables and even spred out so you were not sitting close to anyone which made it more private and intimate so you would not be botherd or bother anyone. The music had the JUST RIGHT volyme to allow a relaxed vibe but not bother the conversation but add to it. Alive candles and cute flowers. You might read its close to a parkinglot which it is, but trust me it really didnt matter at all! Especially when the sun went down and you had a view of the towers of old town it was really charming and not a problem at all because its still far away from the road. Food: AMAZING FOOD. So so good everything was delicious and served hot straight out of the kitchen when it was Done so you could enjoy it at its best. By far the best tapas we had in Alcúdia! If we would have known about this place sooner we would have come back. Dessert also super good and nice coffe. Service: also super good. They were so nice, had the attention on you when you might need more to drink or wanted to ask something etc. Also one Big and important thing was allergies. My partner has some servere allergies peanuts and sesame. And there was no problem and they let us know straight away what he could and couldnt eat. English was good. So in general so good experience and super relax.
Details to know: the fruits in the sangria was so fresh and good almost like they have handpicked it, reservation is a must otherwise it Will be diffucult to get table. As mentioned they were very good with allergies ++ and its a very good price, they should up the price because it really was that good.
We Will come back if we ever go back to Alcúdia!...
Read moreAs per local customs, service is very polite, kind and knowledgeable of many languages here as well. The atmosphere is inviting and has a fresh look. What really stands out - especially on an island like Mallorca where it is really easy to find tasteful and appealing cousins - is the food offered. We were greeted with freshly pressed fruit juice; we took one with strawberry and one with mango. Not sandy, not watery but very well grinded and refreshing. I have been eating seafood and fish around the Mediterranean Sea so I am quite accustomed to looking for the best and most tasty spots. Here in the Merlet in Alcudia, though, what I found is exquisite taste and very balanced seasoning. We took 3 tapas - that are full sized dishes, really - each better than the last. The cook, disclosed only later to be the mother of our waiter, must have had decades to perfect her dishes because only then one can achieve this level mastery! Since neither the atmosphere nor the prices were typical of haute cuisine, this is, in my opinion, a must-visit not only if you find yourself in Alcudia or Formentor area, but really if you step foot on the biggest of the Balearics. Try it out, you will find yourself agreeing with me....
Read moreMerlet, a family-owned restaurant, is truly a culinary gem that enchants locals and visitors alike. My husband and I had the pleasure of dining there, and our experience was nothing short of unforgettable.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu at Merlet is a celebration of local produce, showcasing a variety of dishes that pay homage to the island's rich culinary heritage. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted, featuring the freshest local ingredients, sourced from nearby markets.
We began our meal with a delightful grilled octopus, followed by succulent shrimp drizzled with a zesty local olive oil, and to finish we had marinated anchovies. Each bite was a taste of the Mediterranean, beautifully complemented by a glass of local rosé.
The service at Merlet was attentive yet unobtrusive, allowing us to fully enjoy our meal without feeling rushed.
Dear Merlet, we feel fortunate to have discovered you and to have had the opportunity to savor your traditional local cuisine (a wonderful find in a touristy town). Please, do not change who you are—you...
