Avoid if you don’t want your evening ruined. I never normally leave negative reviews and I am really tolerant , but the staff/service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. I went with my young children as we were drawn by the good range of vegetarian options. From the moment we walked in, it just felt there was no welcome despite it being relatively quiet…..and we were standing around wondering what to do. We had to try hard to get attention to place an order and waiters seemed more interested in folding napkins on empty tables than taking the order. We ordered mixed vegetable curry, Cashew nut paneer curry and eggplant curry with Peshwari nans/plain rice. The waiter looked at us in disgust for not ordering drinks (I don’t drink alcohol) and only sell mineral water when I asked for tap water for the kids. He commented how ‘this is Alicante - water is not a drink etc’. I do appreciate that might be the norm for Alicante, but the waiter handled it badly and made us feel awful (even if he just said he was sorry but they don’t provide this etc.) He looked uninterested throughout and my kids picked up on it and felt sad. We almost felt like walking out based on how we were made to feel during the order process….or converting it to takeaway to escape the atmosphere. When the food arrived, the peshwari nans and cashnut paneer curry was really nice. The other two curries were not great - tasted as if used frozen vegetables too. To escape the slow service, I went to the counter to pay my bill.
So please do look at the other reviews which mention similar issues with the service...
Read moreCharged us for an empty chair when the restaurant was completely empty and for takeaway containers without telling us, really bad service and rude staff.
— EDIT —
I paid the full bill, this has nothing to do with the amount.
You charged us for an empty seat in an empty restaurant.
You charged us for a takeaway charge from a restaurant that does takeaway.
You also charged us the plastic containers on top of this.
None of this was communicated to us beforehand.
No other restaurant in Spain has ever charged any of my friends for any of these items in our experiences of living here.
You also could have asked us to move to a smaller table if you needed that empty chair for your empty restaurant.
Sneaking hidden charges onto the end of a dinner is completely unacceptable.
Your staff were rude, end of story.
The way your staff argued with us over pennies entirely soured our dining experience and none of us will ever be coming back again.
Any restaurant with good service would drop these hidden charges instantly when you can see that your customers are upset and unaware.
I paid the whole bill so I could leave because I was done with your nonsense and my friend almost missed the tram because of your continued bickering.
Do not recommend, there’s much better and nicer places to eat...
Read moreAbsolutely Delicious! We called in here for lunch it was busy, which is always a good sign! The restaurant is clean, spacious, and comfortable. There was some drilling noise nearby, but work has to be carried out everywhere. We were greeted by friendly, pleasant staff who seated us at our table and gave us menus to look through. When we had made our decision, our orders were taken, and drinks were served. Our starters arrived, my husband had ordered the sheikh kebab & I had ordered the lamb tikka. My husband said his kebab was really good. I must say my lamb tikka was tender, perfectly spiced & cooked beautifully, possibly one of the best I've eaten! My husband ordered the Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi, I ordered the Chicken Tikka Dansak we both ordered Garlic Pilau Rice & a Garlic Cheese Naan. Both curries were absolutely delicious the meat was tender, the curry sauces were perfectly spiced had great flavour and consistency. Garlic Pilau Rice had a lovely garlicky flavour and complemented the curries perfectly. The Garlic Cheese Naan was exceptional, leave room to enjoy one of these and mop your sauce up.... delicious! The price was great too! A real find, we will...
