Attended late February 2022 - arrived early - 7.30 pm. Had a lovely seat by the window and had amazing views of the marina - but due to the cold evening we requested a move as the chill was a little too much for us.
Had the focaccia with salmon as my starter - was lovely - but it is not for one person - it’s huge!
My main was the black spaghetti with prawns. There was supposed to be chillies but they were nowhere to be found?? The prawns were not de-veined which was disappointing and spoiled my meal.
My sisters whom I ate here with had a dessert - the lemon pie - which was served on a chocolate sauce - please stop this - there is no need for it - it adds nothing extra to the dish other than us asking ourselves as to why this was done.
The cheesecake - was nice - large slice - just needs more of the biscuit base served with it.
General service was good. Manager was very helpful with getting our table moved to a warmer spot in the restaurant...
Read moreWell on a street with coyote and a Guinness sign I briefly looked in and although the interior looked very genuine old wooden interior and authentic, I followed the fancy signs down the road but having viewed the fancy pubs I urned and never looked back. The peculiarity of this bar is that like the Clint Eastwood film 'the good the bad and the ugly' which ended at the grave with no name; this bar is the bar with no name outside; all the locals know the name but it is a secret to all but them. Wonderfull atmosphere and splendid selection of beers including stouts. The bar atmosphere best resembles the American TV series 'cheers' the place where everyone knows your name. Very friendly and great bar service. Oh almost forgot cracking music selection if like me you like lyric filled rock and 70/80 music. Most folks are Spanish but they seem to like blondie, the clash, stones etc Nice place nice people gets my...
Read moreMalatesta 🤯 The first time I discovered this bar was last summer, while map googling bar cervezas 🍻 artisanales. The rating was good but what intrigued me was the name. Every time we’re back, I’ll have a different local beer there. Yesterday, after enjoying a New England ipa from Murcia 🤤, I asked the bartender about the name; he happened to be the owner. The bar has been named after his mother’s maiden name 27 years ago!!! Miss Malatesta was from Zürich and used to speak Züridütsch with him. We switched then from Spanish to Swiss German. I’d never have thought the origin of this rather strange name was to be found in my very own country. It was a nice encounter, I’ll definitely...
