Restaurante Casa Dimas — Restaurant in Alicante

We were staying in an apartment just upstairs, and researched and saw that this was very highly reviewed for paella and sangria.

We went inside (nice atmosphere and restaurant) and ordered two paella and white wine sangria. Food took no time at all. It was delicious and we felt offered great value. The white wine sangria as well went down well.

By the time we had finished, the restaurant was basically full. Lots of people were waiting for food, and we struggled to ask and pay for the bill, so had to walk out and pay for it so we wouldn't be waiting a long time. This was the only negative in an otherwise very good experience.

With a bit of tailoring, this restaurant could potentially go for a michelin recommendation, perhaps with better service? But...

Hello, we have been to this restaurant twice. The food was ok; the service does not speak English. On our second visit our backpack was stolen. The staff could not show us the recordings hiding behind the law. When we asked for directions to the police station because we wanted to report the theft immediately. Unfortunately, the waitress probably deliberately misled us and pointed in the opposite direction and then explained that he thought a police officer had passed there. As everyone knows theft is reported at the police station and we asked them about the location of the police station. Let everyone judge for themselves whether they want to be in such a place. To us, the situation seems...

Unfortunately I can not recommend this place. First of all the first impression is poor, the interior of the premises is neglected and unpleasant. The bathroom in a terrible condition, and unwashed plates and glasses with dust particles. What's worse, we were not served properly, although the waiter was very nice, but the waiting time for the dish was too long, and then we had to wait an additional 10 minutes for the bill, because the waiter was on the phone. And finally, the worst news - even though I always finish my food, this time I couldn't make it. The paella was simply too salty. My advice is to avoid this place - it's not worth saving a few euros to leave...
