Hotel reception and rooms are 4-5/5: The two too small (6 and 8 passengers) elevators are swamped during breakfast hours, expectedly.
The Convistas restaurant has 5 out of 5 stars for its view and 0 out of 5 for its service - which is non-existant. We had reserved some 30 places for a large group from 20:00-23:00 with a 3-course seated menu - but besides serving the meals (which was good to very good), none of the three available waiters seemed to care about the large crowed (we we practically the only guests). I barely managed to get 4 drinks over the course of the 3 hours including water - because no one could get hold of any waiter. I understand if they do not want to serve wine and water to all individuals, but why, for heavens sake, don't you put some bottle of red and white wine and sufficient water on each of the three tables? I had to become very serious and angry with the personnel in order to simply get served what we payed for.
Sadly, I encountered the same unfriendly and wholly unwelcoming approach two days later when we wanted (2 persons) to get a window table at 22:15 (45 minutes before closing) in an empty restaurant.
One of the earlier reviews mentioned a similar observation only for the male waiters - I can wholly confirm this. Without being sexist, the female waiters are kind but, apparently, can't overrule their male companions.
A real pity, but I cannot recommend this venue for any...

Convistas restaurant, perched atop the 26th floor of Alicante’s Gran Sol Hotel, offers a dining experience as spectacular as its panoramic views. From our table by the floor-to-ceiling windows, we gazed out at the sparkling Mediterranean Sea and twinkling city lights far below. The historic Santa Bárbara Castle crowns the skyline in the distance, and at sunset the entire vista glows in hues of gold and pink. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed – perfect for a romantic dinner or special celebration – and it makes you feel on top of the world.
The food at Convistas is as outstanding as the scenery. Every dish we tried was high-quality and delicious, highlighting fresh Mediterranean ingredients with creative flair. From succulent seafood to artfully presented local specialties, each bite was a delight.
The excellent customer service made our evening even more memorable. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, happy to explain the menu and offer wine pairings, and they timed everything flawlessly. By the end of the meal, we felt not only well fed but pampered. Convistas is a must-visit, whether you’re a traveler seeking an unforgettable meal with a view or a local looking to indulge in something...
Read moreConvistas restaurant offers a dining experience with a spectacular port view that's hard to beat. The serene and picturesque setting is the highlight of the visit, providing a beautiful backdrop for any meal. The food and drinks are satisfactory, meeting expectations but not exceeding them. They are decent and enjoyable, though they lack the "wow" factor that might make them memorable.
Unfortunately, the service detracts from the experience. The male server during our visit was noticeably unwelcoming and appeared stressed, which affected the overall ambiance. Friendly and attentive service is crucial, and this aspect needs improvement to match the otherwise pleasant environment.
In summary, is worth a visit for the stunning port view and decent food, but don't expect exceptional...
