Two years after our first visit, here is what happened tonight. This place has turned 180 deg backwards from our last wisit, here is our experience : arrived 20.20 with what we thought was a confirmation of our booking (in spanish), but turned to be a e mail containing a waiting list notice for reservation. I did my booking through their website. still were given a good table, but informed we had to free up our table after 95 minutes for the next lot around ! next thing was to order starters, main and a bottle of red wine, they must have the greatest wine selections in Spain ! wery impressive for started we had red shrimp (six small pcs for 14 eur !) and Norvegian lobster “Parmentier” who turned out to be some sort of pudding with few tiny tiny langoustine tails and semy raw egg in the middle, why didnt they say it was a pudding ! for main dishes we ordered grilled turbot, turned out to be ca 60-80 grams baby slice of some flat fish from the Mediterrania full of bones, nothing like a proper turbot, and my wife ordered “aged cow burguer” 200 grams asked for medium steak level, turned out as near raw hamburger, I guess we are not good in understanding “Parmentier” or “burguer” anyone ?! we got the starter ca 5 min after our order, definately precooked and then re heated to half way, came less than warmed up asked the waiters to give some break in between courses, got 10 min, probably due to order to get triple table turnover each night.. we felt like that at least.. the good things were the exceptional service/kindness by their staff, the restaurant setup with cozy atmosphere and the wine selection. we paid around 105 eur for two persons, wine bottle was 30 eur and they charged eur 3,80 for small breadloaf they brought to rhe table without offering or telling us this would be added to our bill ! One star for the good staff One star for the wine selection The rest you have to earn by improoving the whole experience, until then I will attend...

We had been recommended to Terre by good friends and wanted to experience this upscale seafront eatery. First impressions are positive. Although the restaurant was relatively quiet inside it stands out externally as the smartest looking sea front venue, attractive to look at and stylishly decorated, with high ceilings and low mood lighting. The small bar area gives way to an open kitchen style eatery with good quality decoration.
However…. please change the Muzak. We’re all used to generic music in some venues but this was sadly mundane, drab stuff, set at just the right level to have our nerves jangling after ten minutes. It’s too bad to ignore.
The service and staff were impeccable, smart, friendly and professional. Top marks. The food less so. We’ve read some amazing reviews about Terre, so as I said at the start, maybe it just wasn’t for us, but the choices we made were unfortunately below par. We ordered Iberico ham croquettes to share for starters - they were well flavoured and moreish. However our mushroom ravioli was served up in a large cold bowl and it was tepid on eating. Tasty enough but spoiled by the temperature, and the wild mushroom was tougher than it should have been. My steak tartare was fine, but served hand chopped with onion and a little spice in three handsome portions with four tiny bread toasts to finish the dish. For some reason I was expecting an egg to make an appearance, but it didn’t. We ordered a plate of hand cut large fries to fill us up.
At €70 including a glass of cava each I would have to say the price was reasonable - just not value for money when everything else was taken into account.
Not one for us, but I wouldn’t necessarily let that put you off. It...
Read moreTerre Restaurant in Alicante turned out to be an absolute culinary delight and easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the city. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance strikes the perfect balance between elegance and comfort, making it an ideal place for a memorable meal. The service was attentive yet never overwhelming, allowing the food to truly shine.
Every dish we tried was executed with precision and creativity. The Miso Black Cod was the star of the evening – perfectly cooked, delicate, and full of rich umami flavors that lingered beautifully on the palate. Equally impressive was the Ravioli, which was light, flavorful, and presented with an artistic touch. The Duck was another standout, cooked to perfection with just the right tenderness and a depth of flavor that made each bite a delight.
Of course, no great dining experience is complete without dessert, and Terre delivered spectacularly. The desserts were not just visually appealing but tasted divine, offering the perfect sweet finish to an already outstanding meal. Each bite reflected the restaurant’s commitment to quality ingredients and impeccable preparation.
What sets Terre apart is its ability to take classic dishes and elevate them into something extraordinary while maintaining a sense of simplicity and refinement. Whether you’re a local or a visitor to Alicante, Terre is a restaurant that deserves a place at the top of your dining list. Highly recommended for anyone who loves exceptional food and an...
