🌟🌟🌟🌟☆ – Great Vibes, Great Drinks, Slightly Too Intense Customer Service

I visited this bar last Saturday and, wow, what an experience! The ambiance? Chef’s kiss. Nestled in a prime location, it’s the kind of place you stumble upon in a movie montage right before something insane happens — which, in my case, it absolutely did.

Let’s talk drinks: expertly crafted cocktails, chilled just right, and served in glasses so fancy I considered proposing to mine. The music? A perfect mix of indie cool and “I’m tipsy enough to dance to this.” You can practically feel your stress evaporate into the $14 mojito mist.

Then came the bill.

Apparently, there was a “miscommunication” about payment — as in, I thought I could tap my card, and the staff thought I should cough up now or meet their personal collection specialist, a.k.a. Kyle from behind the bar, who is apparently licensed in both mixology and tactical intimidation. Long story short, nothing makes you appreciate good service quite like appreciating it with your hands up.

To be fair, they were very polite about the whole hostage vibe. I even got a complimentary shot after I paid (and stopped crying).

Would I go back? Definitely — but this time, with cash and maybe a bodyguard. 10/10 for atmosphere, 11/10 for drama. Just… maybe tip well and don’t make eye...

Visited here on several evening for drinks so cannot comment on food. Cocktails were nicely balanced and were generously sized. Hendricks gin with Schweppes tonic was served with cucumber which tasted particularly lovely. The mojito was good but not up to the standard of the g'n't or negroni. Location is near the coast and on the edge of the old town so there are plenty of people watching opportunities. The square Soho is in is worth a look on its own due the trees. Tried to sit down for some post dinner drinks after wandering around taking in the sights with some ice cream - my partner was just finishing his ice cream off and saw no issue with him doing this while we sat and waited for our drinks but while pulling out seats to sit at a table the waitress ran out to tell us to leave due to the ice cream tub. How ridiculous to turn people away for a spoonful of ice cream but in such a rude manner was unacceptable, you’d have thought we did something terrible.
