One word: "Deliciouuuuuusssss"
okay to break it down: I evaluate a good burger place by three factors: beef preparation skills and techniques of the chef, fried onion perfection level and how good the side dishes are.
the kitchen scored excelent in all of these.
We got juicy burgers served, in a half assembled state so that the customer could add sauces as liked. the meat was grilled medium to perfection and actually tasted amazing even without any sauces added.
The place served a variety of mixed american, mexican and spanish entrees - to test this place, as mentioned, i went for onion rings. They passed with flying colors. In got whole onions rings, which were pre-fried until they started turning glassy, then were dipped into fine powdered breading (not too little not too much) and then they were deep fried to crispy perfection. - not many joints pass this test. :) My sweetheart head some ham and cheese quesadillas with the best, really the BEST Guacamole we ever had. The whole dish was a drooling perfection.
Finally since all burgers come with a serving of big fries, i could try this joints variety and they scored far above average.
The place itself is dressed up in a fancy new art style bar fitting its 80ies best hits variety of pop and rock music. Think of an american diner kitchen inside a spanish kitchen inside a rustic yet artsie bar.
I rated this joint based on their Rustica Burger 200g (fries included), their onion rings and the taste sample of the delicious...
Read moreWhen the waiter came to ask me if the food is good, I answered very good and then I realised that I lied. Burger was very average, potatoes were a bit better but still far from good (I was eating them with Heinz ketchup, the same you can get in Macdonalds across the street). And the reason I lied was because I was busy pretending that I am Italian talking in Italian with waiter (though in fact I am Russian). I ended up leaving 2 euro tips (probably also unconsciously, so waiter doesn’t tell to anyone that I am not Italian) though I should have left those tips not here but in another place where I had very good bocadillo and beer for lunch in cafe by very nice grandma for 6,20 euros earlier today. Because there, by that grandma, it was real (food, life, atmosphere) and here… I can’t say not, but again: average. Don’t repeat...
Read moreGreatest beer burger bar in Alicante. Meat is cooked perfectly here. Just that is enough to recommend this burger spot. However, there's more to it. The variety of hamburgers available ranges from the classic American style to the shocking (and exquisite, if you like fish and wasabi) Japanese style tuna burger.
The use of the right bread and mix of vegetables and sides makes absolutely every choice a delight... Also for gluten allergic people. If you cannot eat gluten, you can still eat almost everything in the menu, and join in the beer drinking with your folks as they also have gluten free beer.
Close to the old town, city centre and the beach this is an unmissable spot, more so in big sport events. Be sure to go next time you...
