Dined late at night prior to a firework celebration and left. Came back next day to dine at same restaurant and the waiter informed that I didn't pay the night before, I had four different waiters tending to me the night before, so I didn't know who was my actual waiter. He brings me the bill and I stated I thought I paid because we were waiting for server for a long time trying to pay to go to event. I stated let me call and check my credit card, that I remember waiting for someone to come by so I could request my check and worried that we would be late for fireworks event at hotel. Again, I told him I was calling my credit card (I was robbed on Cordoba and wanted to ensure I was being scammed again). He asked if I paid cash and told him I couldn't remember, but would check credit card because that is how I usually pay. He proceeds to tell woman supervisor, tells me again and I stated I'll pay, I can't remember if I paid cash but 26 Euros is not worth going to jail in Spain over and I would pay; no problem. He came and said something five times embarrassing me each time with the other tables around me listening. The fifth time the waiter is talking to male manager and the manager comes over inquiring about payment. I told him that I told the waiter five times I would pay. Because of interpretation, the manager continued to ask me about payment and I continued to tell him I was going to pay and I repeatedly said okay. He understood and told waiter. This waiter was so unprofessional. I checked my credit card and no payment, can't remember if I paid cash so I was fine paying, no problems. I told waiter that initially. The repeat inquiry and scene made was embarrassing. Do you think I would come back to same restaurant if I was a thief? Just a very unprofessional waiter. Maybe he got in trouble the night before, but I told him I would take care of it and the repeat interrogation was not cool. Maybe he has been stiffed alot. As I was writing this, he came back lecturing me again about payment making a scene as I was finishing my meal. I said take credit card and pay. I said pay both tabs, and move on. He again chatters with coworkers, very unprofessional. No class! Teach waiters to handle cases better; I could have paid right away instead of waiting for second check. Never draw attention to a matter like this. I would have took customer to side. If I didn't pay because of not paying attention, I would have been very humble and would have profusely apologized genuinely. He was like a badger. No class! This is our favourite go to place in the whole of Alicante. Whether it is in the morning for brekkie with a sea view whether it is an intermittent break whilst on the beach or whether it is in the evening after a shower for a cheeky G&T. We have been coming here for 15 years only in August for 2 weeks but the service never waivers. All the staff are amazing and so lovely and helpful a true credit to the company. We have stopped in all the bars on the promenade and quite frankly people can be quite rude and impersonal, this place feels like family. Special shout out to Our Luca and Angie who have been serving us for the last 15 years we have been coming then the newer staff just as amazing, Taras, Ruben, (managers) Cristian, Sebastian, Ibrahim, Victoria and Douglas. They are all lovely and I extend this review to all the staff even the ones I havnt named. They are a family friendly place as we have 7 kids under 5 here and it’s hard to find a place that us is so welcoming.
