La Terraza del Gourmet — Restaurant in Alicante

We were lucky to find this little gem on the first day of our stay and visited for breakfast every single morning of our stay there. The food was absolutely delicious. Artisan breads, freshly squeezed orange juice that was by far the best i've ever had. (I know that depends on the oranges, but no one else had oranges like that any where near to this little beauty). The service was outstanding. There was nothing that we ordered that we didn't enjoy. They were always busy but we still received high quality service and food, with a short waiting time and the atmosphere was buzzing. The location is stunning. Overall, we absolutely love this place and we will definitely be going back again, even if it is just for breakfast here. Was recommended this place as an excellent tapas place. There was no tapas menu. So I was pointed at the appetisers.

I ordered the artichoke and anchovy. I should have realised… it literally had a single anchovy fillet across it. The patatas bravas were like a microwave meal. The croquettes were ok. The red wine was iffy. Not sure if it tasted off. I had the dregs of the bottle that was already open with bits of cork for free 🤣 so could have been.

The waiter brought my food and then as I was about to start took it away for another table. Then the waiter started to take my plates as I was still eating.

And it was very expensive for what it was.

Should have gone somewhere else.

I was walking down the street and I wanted to drink Aperol, I asked the waiter if I could sit down, they asked me if I would eat? I said that I didn’t want to eat yet, he told me that, this place is only for dinner! I say, if I don’t want to eat at the moment, I can’t sit down and drink an Aperol? He says - yes you can’t , and after 10 seconds he says - yes, you can sit, but you have to leave before 8 because we will be all busy with dinner. P.S.
