0 Stars - Disgusting Experience
I went for dinner to Palmitas in Alicante, Spain, and ordered chicken tenders for my children, who are 2 and 4 years old. When I cut the chicken into pieces for them, some of it was still raw. We sent it back, and they brought a new batch. I checked two chicken tenders, which were fine, but as we continued cutting, we found more that were raw. We sent it back again because we didn't want our kids eating raw chicken and getting sick, potentially ending up in the hospital.
When we asked for the bill, they had left the raw chicken, which we had to send back twice, on the bill. When we told them we were not paying for it, they said they couldn't take it off the bill because the waiter would have to pay for it, and the owner refused to remove it. We paid the full bill but were disgusted by their response. They even had the audacity to tell us that people in Spain eat chicken like this. No, they do not! We have been here for 10 days and had no issues with raw chicken in any other restaurants.
Save yourself the trip. We had plenty of other bad experiences while being at this restaurant for a short period of time. The waiter that served us was nice and accommodating, but other waiters were laughing at us, and we noticed them being rude to other customers who tried to come eat. My sister went to the washroom and saw a big cockroach and let the staff know.
I would recommend you stay far, far away from this restaurant. I understand this is a tourist area, but my brother owns a restaurant himself, and customer service and health regulations are top priorities! Please check your chicken if you will be eating here, and hopefully, they change their ways after seeing this review. I ended up going home and puking my food out from how nauseous I felt after that experience! (Its also crazy reading other reviews and people having the same...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur group of 9 had one of the worst restaurant experiences ever here.
The service was unpleasant from the start. The waiter ignored our order several times and insisted that one specific lady at the table had to order first for only herself, even though we clearly said we wanted two jugs of sangria for the whole table. His way of addressing the men as ābrother,ā while chewing gum and acting arrogantly, made us feel far from welcome.
The food did not improve matters. The steaks we ordered as rare and medium rare arrived as medium and well-done. No one with the steak got what they had asked for. The so-called patatas bravas turned out to be frozen oven potatoes with an extremely spicy sauce, and the calamari were unseasoned, greasy, and tasteless. Only with a lot of salt and some lemon (we had to ask for the lemon ourselves) did they become somewhat edible.
What shocked us the most, however, was the hygiene. The ladiesā toilet had urine on the seat, and the menās toilet was literally impossible to enter due to a layer of urine on the floor. To make matters worse, wet footprints from the toilets could be seen leading into the dining area. Absolutely disgusting and completely unacceptable.
In short: chaotic service, poor food, and the dirtiest toilets I have ever seen. This restaurant is not recommended. We will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve eaten here for 5 days in a row, and itās time for a summary: the kitchen is absolutely flawless, and the runners as well ā great job. However, the main waiters are terrible. I honestly feel sorry for those poor runners who give their all and work really hard, while their higher-ranking colleagues just stand around amusing themselves with each other ā certainly not with the restaurantās guests.
Itās unacceptable that in such a touristy place, the restaurant staff donāt speak English. (Ironically, some of the runners actually do speak English.) How are you supposed to understand when a guest tells you about their allergies? Or how do you expect to inform a guest that the olives have pits inside? (Yes, tourists ā especially older ones ā often arenāt aware that not all olives are pitted.)
It seems like there is chaos in the dining room. From what Iāve observed, the waiters think too highly of themselves ā both towards their colleagues and the restaurantās guests. (Pulling weird faces, sighing, yawning, playing on their phones) while the poor runners are trying to save the situation.
I left tips there mainly hoping they would be shared with the kitchen and the runners.
Dear kitchen and runners ā...
