Swallow - Specialty Coffee — Restaurant in Alicante

Stumbled upon this wonderful place on my morning walk, as I was photographing beautiful buildings in the Alicante sunrise.

My curiosity led me inside and I was welcomed by super friendly English speaking staff. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, and the house plants made it even vibier!

I had a quick look at the menu, and noticed that they had my favorite hot beverage: matcha latte. As a vegan, I asked if they had plant milk, which they did. I went with a takeout oat milk matcha latte, as I had a meeting to catch. Otherwise I’d enjoy it there, because of the beautiful atmosphere.

The matcha was beautifully prepared with latte art and it tasted absolutely delicious! It was perfectly balanced, no lumps and not overly sweet as you may get at some places. Truly authentic flavor, just like in Japan 🍵

They also had some freshly baked goods from local bakeries, which looked delicious. There seemed to be one vegan option at the menu, but as I’d already eaten I didn’t get anything.

Overall, this place had such a cozy and calm atmosphere, and the matcha was high quality. Wonderful, welcoming staff, which made me want to come back. Highly...

A place that tries to be really fancy but don’t expect to be treated nicely. It’s just money that counts. I wanted to grab a quick coffee and finish last bits of my homework. I had my laptop with me so my intentions were rather clear. Only when I have paid for my coffee I was told that it’s not a working cafe and they would like that I don’t work on my laptop for too long. Which I understand and I explained that I need just few minutes to finish one thing and I will leave for my class. 3 minutes after I got my coffee I was asked to move because a big group arrived ($$$$). I ended up drinking my overpriced 3€ cappuccino in 30 seconds and I had to leave. In total I was in the place for no longer than 10 min. Now I am sitting on the bench outside and let me say that it’s December.

There are so many nice coffee places around that I am sure that I will never come back. Go to Jevole or Sip and Wonder instead. The staff and coffee is amazing and you’re entitled to stay there for more...

i’m from Valencia and went to Alicante last weekend. i’m a huge fan of specialty coffee, so i did my research previously and found this place.

the overview of my visit was quite good. the staff is very friendly and very helpful; I asked them for a recommendation and without a doubt, they gave it to me. also, the place is very cozy and makes you feel at home.

the only downside I noticed on my visit to this place is that they don't have like a physical menu or somewhere where you can see everything they offer. and it's a bit of a hassle if you're not clear on what exactly you're ordering.

however, it’s still a great place to visit if you want to have good coffee and good food.

p.s: you have to try the chocolate chip cookie...
