Vintage54 — Restaurant in Almeria

This place should definitely be on every visitor's map when visiting Almeria! We turned up on Christmas Eve when it was busy and raining outside, yet the bar staff could not have been friendlier! The food was delicious and the beer and wine excellent. Whilst we were eating the bar man asked us something in Spanish which unfortunately we couldn't understand and apologised. A few minutes later he returned with his mobile, a big smile and showed us his English translation asking how we were enjoying the food? Now that is great customer service! Visited yesterday. Was bit underwhelming.

Service was awesome. Our order were duly taken and the food arrived on time.

The restaurant is located on the Main Street and easy to find.

Seating is both inside and if not too hot then outside.

We ordered a dish of nachos - these were the best nachos we ever had. Nachos were freshly prepared and never have seen this anywhere.

What was disappointing however was main course.

Chicken was incredibly hard in chicken burger and chicken skewers. My wife ordered a vegan burrito which she didn’t like much either.

Food was very good but the "tapas especial" cost apparently 4€ extra + the price of a drink plus normal tappa. This is not mentioned in the menu. After we complained about this practice 2x we got 4€ + drink without tapas. But then an extra Tapas for 4€ appeared on the bill. Finally, we had an appropriate amount on the bill and payed it (+10€ bc we didn't have the exact amount in cash) we got only 5€ back and had to complain again to get the 10€.

This practice completely ruined the experience, which was very nice until the bill came....
