The best meal we had in our ten days in Castillo. Small family run restaurant with the most hardest and professinal staff I've seen in a long time. Food wise - absolutely 10/10. Everything is so fresh and not the frozen food you will find in most of the other restaurants in Castillo. Menu is quite small, which leads to attention to detail and keeps everything fresh. Most other menus consist of like 225 menu items, which should tell you something. It is an open kitchen where the chefs cannot get away with anything. It consists of 4 burners on the cooker, which they have perfected their timing and cooking. Meats are well marinated, stocks for their soups are made fresh and not bouillion powder. Vegetables from the asian greens to seletion of mushrooms are all fresh and cooked correctly. Waiter/owner is so passionate that this is passed onto the customers. Past reviews have mentioned that the portions are small for the price, but to be honest, you get what you pay for here. I'd rather pay for something that's fresh, freshly cooked right in front of you rather than paying for portioned meat out of a plastic package and frozen vegetables. From their son that washes the dishes, who also runs bill, who cleans the tables, the chef who cooks the food and runs the food to the tables you have to admire all the hard work and professionalism of this restaurant. If you want something different in Castillo this asian inspired restaurant is the place to go hands down. Wishing the best of luck for the future as...
Read moreAfter hearing about how delicious the food was here and having to book 2 months in advance, we were excited to try Coco's Kitchen. The food is incredibly fresh and well made, however the portions are small and we left feeling hungry still after a starter and a main (there were only 2 desserts, both with dairy).
When we were greeted and told we had a table for 4 booked, they had it down as a table for 2. Luckily there was 1 table left and we were able to get seated. A party of 7 turned up 20 minutes late with only 5 of the guests, so we were moved to their table, which was converted into a 4.
The whole restaurant is tiny, so expect to be bumped into a lot by the wait staff, as the tables are crammed very close together and it gets extremely busy. Every 15 minutes people were turning up with reservations. The whole place can fit 20-30 people MAX.
The food is extremely flavoursome, nicely presented, however the menu is not clearly labelled for dietary requirements and when asking what was vegan friendly, we were limited to a few options - which at the point of ordering were then told we couldn't have because it had milk and egg, despite most Asian restaurants using...
Read moreBy far the best restaurant in Fuerteventura. And we have seen a lot in 14 days. We had to book a week in advance but all worth it. It is not very noticeable from the street, which is a shame, because the food is very nice and they are so friendly. Everything is made fresh and you can taste that in the food. We were with 4 adults and 4 kids and even the kids asked for more. We tried several dishes to share (sushi, dumplings, bapao , duck, chicken and beef) and when we thought it could not get better, it actually did. Also the best rice i have had, ever! I’d share pictures of the food, but it was gone before i could take any pictures, that good! The service is also great and the kitchen is open and very clean. It is run by a family and very friendly. Coco also came to the table to say goodbye, which was very welcoming and friendly. We also booked for lunch to explore the rest of the menu. Looking forward to that :).
Very much recommended! A MUST when on Fuerteventura. The best food, service and quality for...
